Can anyone help - I am fed up with loosing all my hard entered T9 additions, I usually need to write an entire message in multitap to get my SPV to remember all my commonly used swear words.

Does anyone know where the T9 user dictionary lurks and what I can use to edit it - then I can just cut and paste all my additions.

I know I should just give up swearing but life just isn't the same without and it feels strange writing any message with at least one in. Also the SPV drives me to it on occasion! ;)

Known problem by all accounts:

Should be fixed in the new patch I'd hope - count yourself lucky, the old Samsung I had before wouldn't allow new entries at all. If you want a phone that can reliably learn new rude words like **** ******* and suchlike I'd go for a Nokia. Otherwise, give your poor girlfriend a break and stop turning her inbox blue.

According to the manual one just has to type the word with T9 turned off and the SPV'll remember it - it does. Sometimes. Lost all the "learnt" words when I erased IPSM, now I simply can't get the bugger to remember "F******" again ;) Worked before, so maybe it'll work again after I power-cycle the phone. Will give it a try later.

Hi all as fixit says the way to enter new T9 words via the phone keypad is here http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...ight=dictionary

What I am after is a way of editing the T9 dictionary on my PC does anyone know if this is do-able? I know I did it on one of my phones, I think the SL45 but I am not 100% on that. Thx NG

Well the file responsible for this is t9english.dll as you can find in the registry. What do next, me not know.

I had a look at this mst9.udb file using a Hex editor... No doubt about the fact that its used to store the words the user enters.

I was trying to figure out the file format using the hex editor. But couldnt make any sense out of it.

Can anybody have a go at it.... Maybe somebody can come with a T9 dictionary editor !! :)

CAUTION

Playing with this file can be DANGEROUS.

I modded the file, and rebooted, no t9, no letters! just numbers.!!

It restores to normal on replacing this file with the original, and rebooting.
