HI

New to the omnia and have a couple of questions I've been reading the forums and internet for a couple of days now and every time I think I've got an answer i'm left with more questions so, can someoen please answer the following for me please

1 - What is the latest firmware, mine is currently running on

pda - xxhg5/mshg1

phone xxgh5

dons't appear to be a branded firmware but am on the o2 network

Want to upgrade as the info I have found so far surgesst that it fix's the gps problems with tt7 and also the screen of death issue.

2 - Can you upgrade from a pc with vista and if so how. All the bits I read so far surgest it can only be done from xp.

3 - a couple of fixs for example getting rid the the treaded message say you have to change strins in teh registry what program or editer do you need to get access to the regisitry

not online all the time so may be a delay before I reply to any replies

but still a little confused by the firmwares

reading the forum everyone seems to be going for the dxhh1 but for the uk shouldn't it be xxhh1 which I have found but teh updaters all seem to be for dxhh1

apart from the country code is what is the differance and is there any problems with going from xx to dx

no probs, the DX work fine on my uk orange omnia, but there is allways risk in flashing the phone, so if your unsure, just leave it be.

unless it's stated specificly, most of the roms tend to be in english, after flashing the phone knows where it is and will get the phone settings, mine finds orange gb ans dl the settings in a second and i'm away ;)

you might get problems using a branded rom, as they are made for a particular region, but again they are specificly listed.

the main reason i was thinking of flashing is to sort the problem with tt7 and the internal gps which I belive are sorted in the new formware but to be honest i'm now thinking of just going for igo8
