Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I'm interested to know if people flash a new ROM every time one comes out (I usually do, but i'm still on DXHI1 atm), or you wait until there's a significant update or something? Discuss! ;) P
Guest jclsm Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 (edited) Hi, I only flash the DXHI1 and DXHI2. I do not intend to repeat unless there's really big improvements because I think that we will allways have small bugs to deal with. I flashed the DXHI1 because the orignal rom XXHHB was realy bad. I flashed the DXHI2 because +/- 5 mb are available on storage. Edited September 29, 2008 by jclsm
Guest pdaphonemaster Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Here is my reflash history thus far. DXHG4 --> DZHH3 DZHH3 --> DXHG4 DXHG4 --> DZHI1 DZHI1 --> DXHI2 I am looking forward to the next new rom.
Guest MBA140 Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I am sorely tempted by a couple of the ROM's here but don't want to invalidate the warranty so have held off. Waiting for the official UK ROM to appear. (taking a while isn't it?)
Guest 1Mack Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 My name is 1Mack and I am a Flash-a-holic ;) :(
Guest ptrbee Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Flashed every english rom released so far, also flashed 1x french & 1x italian, once I get my problem sorted though I will stop.
Guest Geronymous Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I normally flash when there is a significant improvement, like from HG3 to HH3, and from HH3 to HI1, but will probably skip HI2 because I have not heard of any significant improvements (and geotagging still not working properly). I did upgrade phone part to HI2, as it was reported it was better in some aspects. In summary, I follow what you, Paul, do... ;) :(
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I wanna be cooking my own... ;) P
Guest jclsm Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 (edited) Yeah, It will be good to have a clean rom, without Touchplayer, Samsung widgets, Samsung keyboards etc Edited September 29, 2008 by jclsm

Guest thegoodly Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 rom history, GH5 - HH3 - HI1 - HI2. will flash all new english roms now, just because its new!!
Guest catfishboy Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Waiting for the cooking rom ;)
Guest Geronymous Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Yeah, It will be good to have a clean rom, without Touchplayer, Samsung widgets, Samsung keyboards etc Only agree with taking out the widgets... I definitely like Touchplayer and the Samsung keyboards... ;)
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Sadly there's not really any progress on deconstructing / reconstructing the ROMs... ;) P
Guest tropolite Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Only agree with taking out the widgets... I definitely like Touchplayer and the Samsung keyboards... ;) I agree... I like TouchPlayer... haven't found another player that will play my avi's as easy as this does. My flashing will start slowing up now... I'm kinda happy with HI2 that I reluctantly upgraded to because I was happy with HI1. HI2 is okay though but now I will be waiting for significant changes seeing as most of the big probs with battery and stability have been sorted. With a very big thanks to all that participate on this site and forum... It's definitely my first port of call if I have issues. So say we all...
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I do wish TouchPlayer supported WMAs! ;) P
Guest FutureDirt Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I will stop flashing Roms when we will finally get full Bluetooth rounting support from Samsung as it's for me a big issue with the Omnia (Bluetooth in/out is only supported with phone calls atm). i have all audio routed through bluetooth without any issues... music, video etc... only prob with bluetooth atm is no voice dialing/control support as far as i know.
Guest totolo Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 (edited) i have all audio routed through bluetooth without any issues... music, video etc... only prob with bluetooth atm is no voice dialing/control support as far as i know. Bluetooth in/out = Routing all the sounds through your BT headset (this is easy to do with A2DP but not with Mono Headsets) and being able to record your voice through Bluetooth without being in phone call mode. If you want to test it, try MS Voice Command or any other program like it. Edited September 29, 2008 by totolo
Guest Massive Attack Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 my ROM history DXHG2 -> DXHG4 -> DXHH1 -> DXHI1 -> DXHI2 i update when the features im using, or would like to use has bugs, or if theres a significant update. 1st was the haptic feedback, then the battery issue, then the GPS with no longtitude, now im waiting for a fix for wrong GPS reference.
Guest Massive Attack Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I do wish TouchPlayer supported WMAs! ;) P and doesnt sort my songs alphabetically, it sucks when you are listening to a concert album and track sorting doesnt make sense.
Guest Ingvarr Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I'm interested to know if people flash a new ROM every time one comes out (I usually do, but i'm still on DXHI1 atm), or you wait until there's a significant update or something? Discuss! P Hell, no ;) I am on DXHI1 now, it provides everything I need without major annoyances, so I may as well use it for some time.

Guest Ice Man Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 (edited) I do wish TouchPlayer supported WMAs! ;) P I wish touch player had some options i.e the simple ability to select by alpha, and the ability to search albums by name and not picture, or maybe an even simpler one that when you accidently select the wrong album/artist because of the missing options above you could go back to the same scrolling position and the not the top, <_< thats gotta be the worst design ever! p.s XXHH1 (Vodafone) - DXHH3 (Secany) - DXHI1 (Secany) - DXHI2 (Secany) Debaiting the old or new russian rom, not that i read russian, but I was wondering if there were any apps that could be ripped off from the windows directory, to beef up the apps on the DX roms as noticed that alot of .CAB apps are included but hidden in these roms!? Edited September 29, 2008 by Ice Man
Guest Ericmky Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 My history G3 (original) to HI1 to HI2 Paul, one question, wath version of phone you have with your HI1 ROM, DXHI2 or XXHI2 ?? Thanks
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 DXHI1 atm, will flash to DXHI2 when I can be bothered to rebuild ;) P
