In addition to my previous topic, I eventually figured out the internet and mms settings for the Samsung Omnia on the OPTUS network.

I thought this might be helpful to anyone else out there who is (thick enoughto be) having trouble like I was!

The main problem I had was it just seemed too easy!

First set up internet

1. Start>Settings>connections tab>connections app

Add New modem connection

Enter a name for the connection like 'Optus internet'

select 'Cellular Line (GPRS) from the drop down box

>click next

in access point name simply type 'internet'

>click next

>click finish. no need for usernames passwords or ip addresses.

then in the connections app again create a new connection like in the steps above.

2. Start>Settings>connections tab>connections app

Add New modem connection

Enter a name for the connection like 'Optus MMS'

select 'Cellular Line (GPRS) from the drop down box

>click next

in access point name simply type 'mms'

>click next

>click finish. no need for usernames passwords or ip addresses.

3. Then jump into your Message app,

select menu>MMS Options

select the 'Profiles' tab

select 'New profile' from the list

in MMS Profile, give it a name like 'Optus MMS'

in MMSC, type: http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/

in Data connections, select the MMS connection you created in step two

in Gateway, select WAP 2.0

in IP address, type: 61.88.190.10

in Port, type: 8070

select Done

the make sure you set the profile youjust created as the active profile.

Test the connection with an mms to yourself.

I hope I have made this clear. If I haven't email me at munchyboff 'at' gmail.com and I'll try and clarify.

please note though that I only know these settings for optus users with omnias! - not a tech wiz, just want to help anyone else who's spent 2 days trying to figure it out ;)

thanks

Ross

mods: if this in the wrong section - I apologise, move it wherever you like
