Hard drive Dismounted

FAULT WITH 16GB HARD DRIVE

I have posted about this before but it keeps happening and im finding it harder and harder to get the Hard drive back

if i format 16gb drive it fails and dismounts the drive, I then have to format phone 2-3 times and soft reset 2-3 time to get the drive back

this has been the case cince getting the phone each time i flash the software and format the 16gb drive this happens

anyone alse have this fault

nope.

probably your flash chip is faulty. you better replace the phone if you can.

the only problems I have with 16GB sotage is that it once disappear - like unmout self. Some apps crases due this, because they are installed on this storage. After soft-reset it appears back.

so try send your phone to the service.

Have you turned USB drive mode on by any chance? It dismounts in this mode.

No unless it is on by default have not changed any USB setting

if i have had apps on there i format before flashing to clear unwanted files

Someone in this forum thinks that the "My Storage" drive gets dismounted when the phone goes to standby, and I personally think its true... when any application tries to access the "My Storage" drive, the phone wakes up, and if you are trying to download something to the "My Storage" and the phone goes into standby mode, and download will fail (I think they have resolved this issue by keeping the phone up, but I'm not sure) and finally if you have it as USB drive, and the phone goes to standby, the drive will be disconnected from windows... well, I wish this can be resolved because I have this disappearing "My Storage" and will return only after a soft reset is very annoying.
