another thing: how to disable auto subsitution in xt9?

I already disabled auto-substitution in xt9 settings and it keeps substituting...

I just want it to suggest a word, not to interfere in my typing

I haven't tried this with the normal T9 (or Samsungs), but it seems to support some options and it works with Touchpal's dictionary and T9. There are 5 apps for different types of dictionaries
