Guest kubusclem Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Hey there everyone, Yes, I guess this is not the first ActiveSync topic here, but from what i read so far, none match my issue and the symptoms seem clear enough to develop them in a new Topic. So here it goes : At first, I had no problem at all, ActiveSync would go ON and OFF just when needed. Then, I updated my Rom (to XHHH2, French SFR official rom) and... since then, god knows why, ActiveSync is playing hide and seek with me. In a nutshell, if i reboot my puter (which normally hardly ever occurs... hence my issue), my i900 is recognized by ActiveSync, which loads up just fine. BUT, if i unplug my i900 and plug it back... no connection detected by ActiveSync and i'm totally unable to interact with my PC and i900. Here's what I've tried so far, reaching to the same conclusion the whole time : - NukASync (to make ActiveSync crash/restart) - Manuel activation of the "Windows Mobile-based Device" network connection in Win XP connection panel. - i900 soft reset - ActiveSync reinstall So far, only solution i've found is... a reboot, which, as you might guess, doesn't really seem to be a valid solution to me ;). Any clue would be much much much much much appreciated ! Cheers.
Guest ronaldb3 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 I'm seeing a similar problem with ActiveStink. Sometimes AS will stay connected a long time and other times it, as you say, "plays hide and seek", with being Connected - Not Connected - Connected - Not Connected, over and over every few seconds, so I cannot get anything done. Any ideas, anyone??? Ron...
Guest no@ Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 yup, same thing here... Only manage to install .cab files directly to the phone without using AS, but how am i goin' to install .exe and .msi files without it???
Guest nicekate Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Same here. It's a singapore bought phone to which I have only added .cab files and spb pocket plus. But the problems with activesync (or activestink?) started before that, about the time I tried syncing with a usb bluetooth key rather than a cable. Now it's really bad. I haven't notice any improvement after reboot of the computer or the phone. Opening activesync before plugging in the phone seems to work. I've disabled the bluetooth hoping that will help. If you've got tips, I'm listening (nothing too complicated please, I don't know what HH1 means although it's all over the forum).
Guest Yunabeco Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 I have problems with Windows Mobile Device Center/WMDC (Windows Vista) when using a standard wired connection with advanced functionality enabled; When I plug it in, it works for a few minutes then disconnects out of nowhere, then reconnects a few minutes later and the cycle goes on. It's apparently, in my case, because of wmplayer.exe kicking in and disconnecting the device, even if you have both synchronization and shared music off. I corrected it by disabling advanced network functionality (Start Menu/Settings/Connections/USB-to-PC), or by using bluetooth.
