Hi all,

Has anyone managed to use Omnia's DNLA functionality? I have a Linux media server and Omnia finds it, I can browse my media, but somewhere along the way it asks me to select a renderer. I suppose a renderer should be a media player that can handle streaming content, but there are no options to select one. Then again, I suspect that Omnia maybe acts as an upnp media server (which means it can stream content to ps3, for example), not client, but the options are so fuzzy and there is no documentation at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

To answer (partially) my own question: I managed to connect Omnia with Playstation 3 :-). It seems that Omnia acts as a media server that can stream content to DLNA clients. It would be nice however if it could act as a DLNA client too.

I've had the same problem as you, and can't play anything on my Omnis either. I think it can act as a remote control of sorts. i.e. If you select the renderer as a DLNA set top box, then this device will play the media from the main server and you can control it through your OMNIA.

I did manage to have my Omnia as Client quite easily.

I just started my Win XP laptop and Win Media Player 11, went to MENU-Library-Media Sharing and enabled Media Sharing.

Started Connected Home and then could stream media on-the-fly from my laptop.
