Guest frankmehta Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 i have a Samsung Omnia 16Gb running dxhi2 pda and radio firmware.. i have a major issue with the omnia, where when i send an sms, it gets sent twice. the sent items show the message as sent once, but i get two delivery reports. this issue has been present in the earlier firmware too as my girlfriend says that this issue has been existent ever since i got the phone. i dunno what to do. please gimme some inputs on why this could be happening. another major issue is that when i take the phone out of my pocket sometimes i just cant take it out of standby. and when i press the power button, the phone just soft resets. what the hell is wrong with my phone! why is it so buggy?
Guest frankmehta Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 am i the only one here with this problem?
Guest goldie Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 (edited) am i the only one here with this problem? no pal, not had the texting issues you describe but the frozen phone when I pull it out my pocket happened alot. Sent it back as it was only 7 days old, and received new one same day(today) with upgraded rom, so far so good ;) It's a known issue with samsung and the service providers, if your phone is less than 14 days old get on the phone and demand a working one! Any longer than the 14 days and they will still fix it for you just it will probably have to be sent off for repair. Edited October 6, 2008 by goldie
Guest frankmehta Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 mine is not a service provider omnia. i bought it from the grey market and its an open market handset. i doubt theres anything wrong with the internals. i called up vodafone(i use voda) and they said it could be an issue with my sim card. the sim worked perfectly fine till i put it in my omnia so i doubt that(i had an iphone 3g not so recently) anyways im now waiting for my battery to charge, after which ill be doing a hard reset and then flash to hi3 which has just been made available officially. lets hope for the best!
Guest frankmehta Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 ok.. the sms issue seems to have disappeared after flashing to hi3 but then again its been less than 12 hours and about 10 smses have been sent only. so no complaints there yet. and the bsod issue has not happened yet and hope it doesnt happen. one major problem is that after the i series of firmwares have come in, the indicator light that used to flash on top reminding one of missed calls and smses has stopped blinking after the phone goes into standby, hence making it inconvenient to wake up the phone from its sleep to check if theres a missed event. quite annoying considering it was there in the g and h revisions. they just forgot!
Guest warnold007 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 are you sure you have it turned on in settings -> sounds & notifications notifications phone: missed call flash light for # minutes messaging: new text message
Guest frankmehta Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 ye.. the reason why i posted this complaint is that it doesnt work even after keeping the flash for notification on to no limit
