Guest Meen Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Your phone update failed. May be you forgot to install the samsung modem driver
Guest pidsw Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Your phone update failed. May be you forgot to install the samsung modem driver One thing that I noticed is that even with the modem driver installed, I usually have to flash twice. The first time when it "Switches to phone" the drivers install themselves, but by the time they are ready, the flasher has timed out. The second time the drivers install fast enough to be ready in time. This happens everytime I flash a new ROM. It may be that my XP computer is too slow or cluttered.
Guest auddie Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Your phone update failed. May be you forgot to install the samsung modem driver My phone got bricked today: I tried flashing DXHI2, which stalled on several attempts. The phone was not affected. Then I tried DXHI3, which went well through the PDA, but hung on the CSC. I used the executable in each case. I loaded the modem driver just before initiating the flash process: Was this incorrect?

Guest Matchstick Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 DXHI3 phone upgrade fails: now when restart appear this image: I got that image after flashing with HI03 failed with the "Port Create Failed" error because I hadn't installed the Samsung CMDA Modem Driver. Fortuntately, in my case at least, once I'd installed the modem driver I was able to get everything working by rerunning the install exe then rebooting the phone (by disconecting the battery) keeping the USB cable installed. The install program detected the phone correctly and the install went OK from there second time round. If you do need the modem driver and can't find it, I used the one from here: http://www.samsungmobile.com/promotion/omnia/fr/sub02_xp.jsp and that worked fine

Guest evil Homer 3k Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 DXHI3 phone upgrade fails: now when restart appear this image: I'm getting this as well after updating to DXHI3. The PDA is up to date, but the Phone hasn't. This was after an emergency update after SPB Mobile Shell managed to screw up my phone. The previous time I hadn't installed the modem driver, so it failed on switching the usb to phone. This time however I did install the driver, but again the update exe timed out saying it couldn't open a port. Now everytime I boot the phone, that symbol appears before running the Samsung logo. Everything on the phone works fine. I may backup later and try reinstalling the rom again.
Guest cdrk Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Could any of you explain how to flash my omnia to this new rom. I've been searching for a while now and I cant find the thread from Paul where he explains it.
Guest cdrk Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) Well, I couldnt wait and had to try it. 1st time tried the installer and gave me the port error. installed the samsung driver and tried again.. now I get the same image phone with the ! - image. trying the installer again after I left the usb connected and "rebooted" with disconnecting the battery.. -failed the installer fails when its going thru the phoneUSB and Port Create.. so how do I fix the modem thing. /edit: Fixxed it.. not sure how but I changed USB port, rebooted the comp, and tried again. works like a charm now Edited October 12, 2008 by cdrk
