Hey I was wondering if anyone is on the Fido data plan. How can i connect to the internet on the i900 if i am in Canada BC. I know 3g Doesn't work but I want to connect without using wi-fi. Sorry I don't know too much about phones.

And Which rom would be a better upgrade instead of the DZHH3 which i currently have

You need to create a new modem connection (for example MyIsp), with the following settings:

Access point name: internet.fido.ca, Username: fido , Password: fido

Then, in Advanced Settings/Select Networks, make sure you have MyIsp selected for both choices.

When you start a browser, you should see a popup showing a connection to the network, and then the "E" symbol will appear (Edge connection).

In Opera, you have to set your connection preference, as it will try to connect to the native provider in your ROM (in my case a Singapore provider).

Roms HI1, HI2 or HI3 would be a good choice over HH3. Just flashed HI3 yesterday, not much experience with it yet.

Hey Thanks I got EDGE Enabled, is there a way to get 3G on the Omnia? Also my "Roaming" Icon is always on. ( only way to turn this off for me is if i turn off the phone itself since it connects to the Fido Network, doesn't matter if im connected to the Edge connection.) Does anyone know if they will charge me more or is all omnias on roam when in canada?

No 3G in NA at this time for the Omnia. Time will tell if a ROM update is possible: depends also on the hardware design (antenna, filters, etc) and we do not know at this point if the Omnia was designed for NA 3G support.

Roaming indicator is normal, as Fido users are always roaming on the Rogers network. As long as you stay within your local Fido footprint (see Fido's site) , you will not be charged roaming fees.

So is there any way we can remove the roaming on the omnia?

Yes Mazen you are defiantely right ...My phone is from Singapore and I am using a canadian simcard under a Fido network and Rogers. So I guess the phone automatically does roaming if the phone is from Singapore or Europe? But since I have a Simcard that uses or is under canadian network I won't be charge the roaming fees?? I hope i get this clear..
