Secanny question: Have you seen a I900L ROM?

On the Venezuela samsung site they have the I900L and it looks like the same Omnia as the others (i.e. not like the Touch Diamond). Do you have any Roms for that one? Do you know if the ROM's will run on the standard I900?

It would be nice to have HSDPA in North America with an I900

Thanks in advance.

I want it too!! The question is: Just flashing the i900L ROM will change the HSPDA frequency?? Isn't it something built in the phone's hardware?

I would love to get 3G here in Brazil too.

software wont change any frequencies. thats a hardware thing. there are filters that are built for those frequencies.

Do you know or just guessing?

Because on Diamond for example it was software-only lock (making it three-band GSM), and was bypassed since then, making it quad-band.

There are filters true, but the question is what filters exactly.

And question is if Samsung opted for different radio hardware for US and EU editions, or for purely software solution, like HTC.

I am pretty sure, the software solution for HTC only adds some I/O of the microcontroller to some more filters to make it quad band.

In some motorola devices there was a 2 mpx camera installed, but it was software limited to 1,3 mpx for some countries.

And I dont think there is different radio hardware for US and EU.

I am 100% sure my statements are correct for Motorola devices and I dont believe that Samsung or HTC does anything else. But ... no responsibility is taken for the correctness of this information

Well, before you said it was hardware issue and can not be corrected by software.

But if all hardware is here, it can.

yes sure. if the hardware is existent, the software can make hsdpa available.

but if the hardware is inexistent, the software will never be able to make hsdpa available.

thats what I meant.
