If you search the forum there is a thread about unbricking......people here tend to get the hump when the same questions are asked over and over...especially when the answer is three clicks away.

If it didn't work after following what was in the 'How to unbrick' thread then it looks like your Omnia is totally bricked and it's a return to Samsung.

I was unlucky enough to brick my Omnia a while ago. Followed the instructions to the letter. Researched what I was supposed to be doing for ages. Still bricked.

Anyway - if it gets to the point of only the red light coming on (the power LED). It goes back to Samsung. I rang up Samsung (UK) and told them briefly what had happened, and that I'd already taken it to a Samsung repair centre - they sent me a pre-paid bag within 4 days. I popped the phone in, took it to the post office, and watched its progress on the online tracking tool.

4 weeks later - I got my Omnia back...unlocked to all networks...and unbranded. The repair sheet said the main board (like the mother board I guess) had been replaced. No charge.

If you live in a country that does not sell the Omnia...give Samsung a call and ask politely...at the end of the day - it's still a Samsung product.

If you live in a country that does sell the Omnia...you've got a 4-5 week wait ahead of you!

Just in case i ever brick my phone, what did you tell them?

Obviously they must have known you weren't trying to flash an official ROM from their site.

Was the company that repaired the phone called SBE by any chance?

Sent my locked Voda Omnia off today, with a note telling them to install non-Vodafone firmware ;P

4 Weeks sounds like a very long time for what they actually did.

Hi MOMBINIDV were you able to unbrick your omnia... i have the same issue thou mine is being detected by the USDL_GrandPrix_v1.5.2_XP utility.. it begins writing to the

1: BOOT

2: starts Downloading PDA region #1(DISKIMAGE)...

and this is where it sits i have a green progressbars at the bottom of my omnia that moves as the phone updates. but wen it begins Downloading the Diskimage it sit's on It's @ss....

after a while like 30min or so i plulled the plug... i get an error "write failure"

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.. as i am a noob and wanted a stripped rom on my omnia.
