Guest robertut Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Does anyone have a clue how to disable the Static Navigation feature on the GPS receiver of Omnia? I tried with SirfTech and many other tools, none of them were able to put the receiver is SIRF mode. Does anyone know what kind of GPS receiver chip is inside this PDA-Phone? If it's not Sirf Star III, then no wonder that all the tools I tried wouldn't work. If we'd know this, at least we could try with proper tools. More on SN (Static Navigation), and why may it be needed to be turned off: http://www.etenblog.com/2007/11/20/static-...tion-explained/ http://www.oziexplorer3.com/ozice/faq_staticnav.html Thanks!
Guest robertut Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 (edited) Interesting, thanks. They may name it differently than 'Static Navigation', but has the same effect... when walking with the device in my hand, it jumps at every 50 meters, and doesn't show correctly speeds below 5km/h. Very annoying when geocaching or walking as a tourist. Edited October 13, 2008 by robertut

I use Google Navigator and builtin Google Maps.
Guest Massive Attack Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 (edited) maybe this is the reason why my camera is giving me geotagging all over the place, like the next picture is 100 meters away, but just 2 seconds away from the 1st picture, unless im flash, thats not possible Edited October 13, 2008 by Massive Attack
Guest robertut Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 I just updated my Phone Radio to i900XXHI2. I'll see how it goes better after this.
