Anyone got this app to work with the Omnia? I can't (keep getting GPS data timeout - tried all combinations of ports and baudrates). GPS works fine with Google Maps.

FYI. You're not alone, I couldn't get it to work either and gave up with it. Support for it was US as well and I paid for it

how bout using GPS gate??

another GPS software (mapking from Mapasia) must have GPSgate running that spiliting the GPS port out to Com6.. then Mapking only can use it..

im not sure why, mayb omnia oledi blocked the port that only Google Maps n Garmin Mobile XT can b use without modification..

see www.ppcsg.com.. they got tutorial bout GPsgate.. ther is a freeware called Port Splitter, that is free but doing the same things...

Mine works great and syncs in very quicky with the DXHJ1 ROM. Are your port settings for the GPS utility and GPS external GPS identical? I do not think it matters which one it is (mine is zero) but they have to be set to the same.

I've been trying this utility for a while, works fine so far, both with the integrated External GPS options and GPSGate.

In External GPS (Settings/System/External GPS), I use:

GPS Program Port (Tab 1 Programs): COM6 (Default being COM3)

GPS Hardware Port (Tab 2 Hardware): COM9 (default); Baud Rate: 4800 (default)

Manage GPS automatically (Tab 3 Access): YES/CHECKED (default)

You may want to soft-reset the device for settings to take effect.

In GPSGate:

Input: COM Port/COM6/Baud Rate: 4800

Output: Virtual COM Port/COM7

In all other programs (tested Windows Live, Google Maps, Efficasoft GPS Utilities, GPS Test; didn't test TomTom since there are no maps available for my location; tested with both ports):

If you use GPSGate:

COM Port: COM7

Baud Rate: 4800

If you don't use it:

COM Port: COM6

Baud Rate: 4800

However, while it detects correctly satellites according to GPS Utilities, it takes a very long time to get a fix (10-15 minutes). Not sure why.

I've got mine working now. I just reinstalled it and it started straight away. Handy little app. I also use GPRS Traffic Monitor. Useful tip - download the "special" version from Efficasoft as the standard PPC version won't work with Omnia.

"Special" version. Can you elaborate a bit as the web site only seemingly gives Pocket PC/Symbian/Iphone choices. I have never been able to get the standard download to work, so would like to try the "Special" version if i can find it.
