Guest gege62 Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Hello, when i recieve an sms message there is no sound or vibration at all..even though i've set it to play a tone and vibrate when one is recieved. in the sounds and notifications menu, it's set to play 'alarm 1' and vibrate when i recieve an sms..but it doesn't. incoming call and everything works fine, it's just when i get a text message. I've changed 3 ROM and many hard reset, but it doesn't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone else with the same problem? Could anyone help me with this? Thanks!
Guest fresh87 Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 I had this problem and it was because I had tweaked the threaded SMS in the registry, this disables both threaded SMS and the notification. The only way to remove threaded SMS is to install the .cab file that is available as this creates a different registry tweak. Hope this helps

I have exactly the same problem as well, but I haven't touched the registry. Please could you tell me which .cab file you are referring to, where do I get it from and what does installing it involve? Many thanks.
Guest gege62 Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Search on google this cab: SMS Chat enabler_v3.cab
Guest ThomasCovenant Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Search on google this cab: SMS Chat enabler_v3.cab Thanks for that. I've had a look at the registry settings and the key in question is set to a value that should be ringing and vibrating, so I'm taking this up with Vodafone first to see if they can sort it out before I go tinkering with anything, but I'll try your suggestion if they can't sort it out.
