Guest jimslec Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Dear Samsung Omnia Gurus, I'm a newbie in Modaco and I'm desperately need help here. i'd just retrieved my phone yesterday from FMG service centre for motherboard replacement earlier and they had install the latest update i900DXHI1/DZHI1. After getting back the back, I was so impatiently to do some third party installations. I made the installation with SJ SamsungOmnia_Driver_D3D and this required restart, right? Right after restarted, I could not access to my control panel (setting) anymore. Each tap on it will bring up the error report saying there's an error with the control panel.exe. I'd even tried soft reset which has no effect at all. I would like to try the hard reset but cannot access to the setting area. So, is there any restoring point like windowpc to make a recovery for such problem. Or is it possible for me to install the Hyper Dragon platform to replace everything since I don't really find Omnia's platform user friendly enough. If so, please let me know where I could find the tutorial to install "HyperDargon" the correct way and how can I unistall the existing one first. *Ps: desperately need help asap before I really screwed up the phone more, thanx in advance.
Guest Yunabeco Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 You don't need access to the control panel to perform a hard reset. Soft-reset, during reboot press and hold the Left Call/Green phone key and the Right End/Hang up/Red Phone key below the touch screen. If you did it right, if will show a screen asking if you want to format. Press the Left Call/Green phone key to do so.

Guest teslation Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 WILL THAT REMOVE MY WINDOWS MOBILE OR ROM? PLEASE FAST REPLY
Guest Hydroxpert Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 nope it will not, it will simply restore your phone to the condition before you installed anything on it, which is ie to the last rom you flashed or the factory condition
Guest beholdthebiscuit Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 I am having a similar problem but mine started after I installed "iContact." Now I can't get to the control panel to try and uninstall that program. My question is: If I perform a hard-reset that will erase all the pictures/contacts/emails/personal data and take the phone back to a like-new state, correct? Or will the data that is stored in "My Storage" be safe from a hard reset? nope it will not, it will simply restore your phone to the condition before you installed anything on it, which is ie to the last rom you flashed or the factory condition
Guest SteveEdson Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Install sktools and simply remove iContact, happened to me, removed it and soft reset. Works fine again now and still got all my data and other programs. Should be reported as a known issue or something.
