Guest Jay3gsm Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 A friend has recently purchased a HTC Touch Diamond, he wants to stream 1Xtra radio programs. Is it possible? I know little about WinMo devices myself, so can't help. Thanks.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the new version of iPlayer will allow you to download shows on your PC and then transfer them across to a suitable media player, of which I think the Diamond might be one. Haven't actually tried it yet myself.
Guest Neil5459 Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 BBC iPlayer doesn't yet support Windows Mobile or Symbian, but there is a way to get BBC Radio streams to a WM Device. Your need to install RealPlayer Mobile from Here This is a standalone Real Player program from where you can open streaming links via the Open Location command. The Beebotron has some links to BBC Radio feeds including 1XTRA. You can either copy these links to the PPC, or use a 'copy link' and paste into a notepad file from where you can copy into the Real Player Open Location address bar. Be aware that this will hammer any data bundle
Guest Jay3gsm Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Thanks for the replies. I'll pass the info on. Much appreciated.
Guest MikeWard1701 Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 You can do as suggested above with URLs. There are some sites online that offer direct URLs for radio station streams, both in WM and Real formats. A while ago I compiled a list of some UK radio stations and BBC news streams by looking through the code of their online players and managed to get the direct URLs, I'll dig it out and upload it.
Guest spenner Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 I stream iplayer direct from the website usually over wifi, but I use a browser called Skyfire. Works quite well, but can be sluggish when using GPRS.
Guest fraktal Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 You can! You can you can. The video quality's often a bit funny but I can never tell if that's the network or not. In opera, type in "opera:config" (no quotes). There's lots of stuff to fiddle with in here, but for this, just go down to "User Prefs". Open it up and go down to "Custom User Agent" and add " sgh-i900" to the end...for some reason mine then says " (Windows NT)" but I don't think that's necessary. Then just restart opera and go to bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer. (source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470193 and http://blog.artesea.co.uk/2008/11/bbc-ipla...touch-pro.html)

Guest Jasonkruys Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) Has this app became stable yet? Last time I installed this I wasn't happy with it. I have never had any particular problems, so I guess if you did, the only way to know if they are fixed is to try it! :( Edited March 1, 2009 by Jasonkruys
