Guest fraktal Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Damn! Missed it! Gnrgnrgnr
Guest pd.ryder Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 £239.99 today - I'm wondering what's been refurb'd? They must have had one hell of a stock of refurb'd machines to offer them like this. I've heard lots of horrors about static build up causing start-up problems, trackpad anomolies and the 3-cell battery lasting no more than an hour. Is it worth investing £240 in one of these? I was considering the AA One with 120GB HDD and 1GB RAM running Linux, but this is about £6 more and runs XP. I'm very tempted...
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 No startup problems here, no trackpad problems and no odd battery life either with my old 3 cell or the 6 cell I have now! I'd pay the extra 6 quid for the inch larger screen personally... the AA One does look sexier, but you pays your money... etc. etc. P
Guest pd.ryder Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 I think you're right Paul. Does that 6-cell stick out horribly like the extended 6-cell does on the AA One? Or will it slide into one of those slinky neoprene cases ok? I've heard there's a 9-cell on the way too!
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 It sticks out a bit, but not too much. The 9 cell sticks out a lot, I have one on the way  P
Guest pd.ryder Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Splashed the cash! Found it for £229.99 on the Dixons website rather than PCWorld
