Key Lock Problem

Out of the box, I can hold down the "Device Lock Key" and it will work as intended and lock the device so that you can pocket it without accidently dialing someone etc.

If I then add a PIN to the device so that it locks on bootup and timeout requiring a PIN to unlock it, then then holding down the Device Lock Key only makes the screen flash and no longer key locks the system.

Is there anything, other than removing the PIN (which is a policy requirement for my email server), to allow a quick key pad lock or fix this glitch?

I'd like to try it, do you have a decent link for it. Most that I've found require me to signup or traverse a million adverts and try not to accidently click on something nasty

yes that works, although clashes with the widgets (although i don't know how long i can realistically live with those anyway).

also trying S2U which I found at http://rs215.rapidshare.com/files/14425342...-1.22b-QVGA.zip

i've upgraded from the current orange rom XXHH1/BVHH1 to DXHJ1 and it's now working fine. Easy process, no hitches thanks to all on this forum \o/

Thank you for contacting Samsung Electronics.

In response to your email regarding your Omnia, unfortunately this is

normal operation. You can't have both the screen and security locks in

place at the same time.

I hope this has been of some assistance to you. If you do have any

further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards

Gemma

I had pointed out to them that i have many many other windows mobile devices which were all capable of doing it
