Hello, Installed IGO 8 on my omnia and overall like it, but been using TOm Tom for quite a while now and use to the way it works. Having a problem with POIS, if i press the position button and then the info button it shows local POI'S which is what i expect, so for example it shows a shell petrol station close by and it also shows its on the map because i have set petrol stations to show, if however i go into the manage POI'S and then select shell it shows No Items. Is this normal? How can i delete a POI that is no longer there? Thanks Paul

What you are seeing is normal!

When you are in Manage POI/ Petrol/ Shell and you tap Edit, iGO looks for subfolders in the Shell POI group, not individual entries. As there are no subfolders, you get the 'No Items' message

As far as I know, you cannot edit/remove the built-in POIs, so if you want to remove one of the supplied Shell stations, I think you are out of luck.

You can only edit your own User POIs. I'm not sure if there are any external tools for removing redundant entries.

Hi there,

Im having problems on how ti running iGO 8 in Omnia, i install everything in sd card, but when i run iGO exe, it appears and disapears the image , and the program wont run...

Any advice?

Tryed also in landscape mode and dont work...

I run iGO exe directly from the microsdcard, it returns:

"a problem has occurred with iGO.exe"

"Please tell Microsoft about this problem, at nos cost to you"??

Thanks in advance.

let me see your sys.txt file as that is the main cause of iGO8 issues. You also must ensure you have the correct data.zip for the Omnia's resolution. Unzip the data.zip and see if you have a folder called 400_240 and 240_400 in the ui_igo8 folder. If you don't, thats where your problem lies.

Let me know if you need any more help

Ah, i see your problem. If you look at your sys.txt file, the application is looking for the folder 320_240 which is the wrong one for the Omnia's resolution. Change your sys.txt file to look like mine and you should be ok.

This is how my sys.txt file is set out:

[interface]

skin="ui_igo8"

resolution_dir="400_240"

maxzoom2d=6000000

show_exit=1

vga=0

[rawdisplay]

screen_x=400

screen_y=240

class="landscape"

[map]

3d_max_tiltlevel=9000

[poi]

enable_pois_before_080217=1

[debug]

skip_eula=1

smart_2d=1

enable_roadshadow=1

[msnd]

msnd.start=0

With this sys.txt file, iGO8 will always run in landscape mode. If you want it to run in either orientation, remove the lines in red.

Hope this solves your problems (it should!)

Which sys.txt file did you modify, as there are TWO!!

1 is in the folder iGO8 on the storage card or My Storage, the 2nd is within Program Files/iGO8.

Ensure that you change BOTH.

If it still doesn't work PM me and we can sort it out without hogging a topic.

Do you have animation enabled in the IGO settings? If yes, turn it off

Hi!

I have an Omnia, and an original Igo 8, which only has Eastern European maps in it...

I'd like to expand my Igo's map library with some new ones, so could you help me how to do it?

I have every map file on my PC, but simply copying them is not working... Thanks guys!

How to turn it off? I get error just before main screen loaded.

And it goes to today screen after click "ok" on error popup.

What's the error? did you download the SYS.txt file and data.zip file from this topic?

http://rapidshare.com/files/138505390/i900.rar

Also, make sure your change the SYS.txt file to match the destination of your IGO8 folder.

Yes I changed SYS.txt in both locations, and data.zip file, but still before main screen load i get:

Fatal error ocured in main thread.

Address:0x000f481c

Exception: 0x80000002

I checked folder name and it's ok.

Here is my sys file.

Change:

[folders]

app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

into:

[folders]

app="%SDCARD%\iGO8"

This is only if you have the app installed on an SD card of course.
