Guest RodolfoG Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Is there a way to start Winterface without it initiating the start page (the one with the gesture guides and the start button) but just going directly to main buttons interface?
Guest mobilehappy Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Is there a way to start Winterface without it initiating the start page (the one with the gesture guides and the start button) but just going directly to main buttons interface? Yes, you simply "draw" an upside down V with your finger on the screen. (Can be done from basically anywhere)
Guest RodolfoG Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Yes, you simply "draw" an upside down V with your finger on the screen. (Can be done from basically anywhere) Yes... I forgot to add that I don't wanna use that gesture... The thing is that I have binded the omnia menu key (on the side) to the Winterface executable so that when I am using the Windows interface and I wanna go back to Winterface, instead of gesturing I press that button… but even if Witnerface is running, it opens the same inital window (the one with the big START button on the bottom and the gesture explanation…) Is there maybe a line command option so that that window is skipped and I’m taken directly to the Winterface button grid? Or some option in an ini file or in the registry?
Guest DaX-Mobile Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 I am presuming that this thread deals with Winterface related issues. I've got Winterface on my OMNIA 32gb (pda i900XXHG5/MSHG1 and phone i900XXHG5). Works like a dream. The only issue I face is that the display does not revert to potrait view from lanscape once the phone is rotated back. Needs a soft reset. Anyone else faced a similar issues?

Guest jonmck Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 mine rotates al the way and back have winterface v1.14 How do you stop the icons shaking when you move them around? I have to put the phone to standby and back on again - there must be a better way...

I have to put the phone to standby and back on again - there must be a better way... That's the only way for me to do it as well... supposedly you simply click on the dpad, but that isn't working... I guess its an Omnia-specific bug. BTW, I LOVE this app... I once had a really sharp battery drain and though it was Winterface, but it happened only once and after charging via PC USB instead of wall charger as I always do... I then realized that it had been the fact that I charged via USB that actually drained my battery (USB Charging on Omnia is faulty).... This "shell" is great... Edited October 21, 2008 by RodolfoG
Guest mobilehappy Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) I am using Winterface 1.14 on Omnia with HJ5 ROM and the rotate functions work fine, and the "jumping" icons is stopped simply by clicking on the touch pad. Edited October 22, 2008 by mobilehappy

Well, I guess it probably isn't working for me then because I have activated the mouse function on my touchpad/dpad instead of leaving it on the 4-way scroll as it comes by default... Anyone can confirm this?

Anyone can confirm this? Confirmed, gave it a go and when the finger mouse mode was enabled it did not work correctly.
Guest moldowan Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I'm checking out the trial version at the moment. I neither have a battery icon nor do I have this status line at the top oft the first screen with time, battery indicator etc. Is this related to the trial version? Is this stuff available in the registered version?

The info like time, battery, date, reception strenght is available directly on the individual "buttons" instead. You can look at a series of screenshots here Edited October 28, 2008 by mobilehappy
Guest moldowan Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Winterface do not have a top or a bottom line. There is a top line here...only on the lock screen though. The info like time, battery, date, reception strenght is available directly on the individual "buttons" instead. You can look at a series of screenshots here I even reinstalled winterface...but I still don't have that battery icon! Another question: Is it possible to call the lock function explicitly? And: Is it possible to have the lock take place when the backlight turns off?

Anyone can confirm this? Yes this is correct - moving the 4 way scroll turns off the wobbles!
Guest andham Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 I have just installed and configured the Winterface app - and I do like it, spent awhile configuring it and am quite happy with the basic functionality. I do have one problem however, when the system locks (IE: Screen blanks), it will after a time, fail to respond/wake up. The only way to get back up and running is a reset. (I have even tried calling the phone but no luck). This problem even occurred using the original today/start menu setup. I have since removed the winterface.lnk file from the startup options and have not (yet) had the issue resurface. it has meant tho that to run it, i need to run it from the original start menu. anyone had a similar issue or (even better) got a fix?

Which version of Winterface are you using? And are you only using the Winterface lock or other locks, like S2U2?
