Using Pauls ".exe" the upgrade went fine...

I was on HI1 for a long time and upgraded to HJ1 only a few days ago.

Memory Storage 90.52 - 57.58 free (less then 1Mb more then HI1)

Program 97.27 - 58.28 free (less then 1 Mb more then HI1)

According to Secany's earlier email: "(lastest Australian version), as it fixed the DLS problem on widget clock and system clock, plus it's a lot better for GPS"

Now installing all software again. When done I'll report back.

Hmmm... not so sure this rom is the "latest and greatest"

I'm getting errors:

"cannot execute repllog.exe"

and

GWES.exe errors

Not clear where they are coming from. It started when I was almost done with installing all program (it's a long list). With all roms I've tried I've neer had these problems before (using same software set).

If someone has an idea...?

yes - yuo deleted anything in registry

if the rom would be the problem you get that error from the beginning

i got that error after i modifid the registry (a big part)

and

i see no improvments, changings in that rom

Nothing much changed from the old rom J1, scientific calculator is gone again, Connected home is not there, and everything else is the same practically.

I get these errors too. Seems it's something from the rom HJ5, not the software because i only installed 3 apps, and they worked very well on previous roms.

In my opinion screen sensitivity is about the same. Top of the screen responds better than HJ1 (battery icon, speaker icon etc.), in HJ1 battery almost didn't respond at all.

Yeh, same.. i don't really notice a difference in sensitivity either. I went from DXHI1 to DXHJ5 to DTHJ5

Battery life on DXHI5 was actually quite good for me. I was hammering the internet and wifi for 2 solid days and it lasted =D And it would last for 3 days with "normal" use with a few random web browsing and phone calls here and there

PDA i900DTHJ5/DTHJ5

Phone i900XXHJ1

Is the "XX" bit for the phone normal...??

I lost my automatic screen orientation in DXHJ5, but got it back in DTHJ5 ( mite be a once off thing )

AND i lost my sms's yet again... *sigh* Is there a way to save the sms messages when flashing to another ROM?

All in all, i got my screen orientation back, i'm a happy camper tho i did lose my sms's =D

i asked the same question a while back about sms, and pim backup was suggested! and have to say never looked back. it backs up sms, call logs etc etc daily if you want it to, to my storage, or storage card. give it a go. definatley recomend!!!

Well my flash to J5 went well. My thoughts:

> yes the daylight savings time difference between clock and widgets is fixed.

> Screen does seem less sensitive

> I have lost haptic feedback on Samsung Today 1

> I cant get wifi to work. when I start wifi it dissapears from the wireless manager.

> Lost Smart reader for a while - but after hard reset it came back.

Is anyone else suffering from wifi problems? I could probably live without haptic feedback on Today 1 - but wifi would send me back to J1!

Not too sure wat the haptic feedback is on Today 1.. i switched it over to Today 1.. and didn't really know how to use it.. haha I'm so used to the samsung widget..

But the wifi on my phone works fine.. connects to my wifi network at home, and i can browse the internet as per normal

I use widgets when samsung bother to make more that the basic set. They could be such a good feature of the phone - but IMHO they are not.

I have gone back to J1 - I hard reset twice and the wifi kept disappearing.

Interestingly - the smart reader would not work with S2U2 (1.32) lock running in the background.

Hi to all, This is my first post here. I've been keeping up to date with all the i900 threads and thought it's time to give something back.

well i did my first upgrade last night from HG3 to HJ5 and it all went perfect. first off... wooww the whole thing feels so much more stable. too early to comment on battery life yet, but screen transitions, menu selection are way faster and less jittery. there also seems to be 'sharper' hepatic feedback in outlook/sms (could be my imagination tho  ) i'm also hitting the correct key on samsung keyboard more often now which suggests that screen sensitivity is much better. Also i have to agree with Michael's widget point, yea i've been using the widget screen for 2 months and i've just changed over to "samgsung today1" and it's infinatly better!

anyway that's all from me for now.

Try PIMBackup freeware, works great for me.

Hello. This is my first post. Have some questions that I couldn't find an answer to.

I have the following version: i900XBHJ2/CSHJ1. It is bought in Sweden from Telenor but it is not locked to the operator.

I am using H3G (3) operator. Can I update to the DTHJ5 rom? Shall I change my preconfiguration to Singapore?

Can I use another ROM instead?

Thanks in advance.
