how can i900 chanllege iPhone?

windows mobile is well known for its slowness and ugly MMI, but on i900, you cannot find this trouble. we found i900 running windows mobile really fast, and the MMI is amazingly beautiful and easygoing. To see why it makes so much difference with some classic PPC phones like HTC P800, we should dig out the inside of these mobilephones:

1) the application processor. i900 use Marvell PXA310 as its CPU, the frequency is up to 614MHZ. this is the fastest CPU in mobile phone products. most of the HTC products use TI OMAP 850, which is running at a very poor 200MHZ, and some of HTC products use Samsung 2442, which is 400KMHZ, Qualcomm near 500MHZ. these cannot be compared to PXA310.

all these CPUs only support USB1.1 except PXA310, it support USB2.0. which makes it much more faster for ActiveSync and copying Audio/video files

2) i900 has amazing MMI, which need a 2D video acceleration. PXA310 has the 2D feature

So where the PXA310 come from? Everyone might know that Intel has a mobile product dept. PXA250,PXA270 are all their products for smartphones. This dept has been acquired by Marvell in 2007, and as a result all their products were transfered to Marvell. the PXA310 is one of the next generation CPU for msartphones.

Marvell has another top performance CPU PXA320 with frequency up to 800MHZ. this CPU is in the phase of design-in.
