Guest grandiotk Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Hi.I dont know if any topic posted about this before. I just discover that "welcomehead.96.png" file can be changed for customizing the boot screen on omnia. Here are some samples. Just copy the file to your windows directory, overwrite the file and soft reset.

Guest Ehood Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Hi, How can I copy the file to the \Windows ? I get a message that the original file is protected. When I try to delete the original, it says that it is inside the ROM and can not be changed... Thank you.

What type of explorer did you use on the machien ? Resco reported "Can not rename file '...'. Access Denied". When I try to delete the original file, I got: "File '...' is in ROM memory! You can not delete it.". How did you manage to copy the file ?

How did you manage to copy the file ? i use built-in file explorer, here is what i did...... send file to ur phone's storage, then open the file explorer tap menu, then tap show all file. go to windows and paste the file in windows directary. tap and hold on the file that u copied then rename to welcomehead.96 instead welcomehead_96 soft reset, watch the screen

You were right, The builtin explorer did the rename. it worked... Now I wonder how can I recover the original file ? since the ROM file was not deleted, I need to copy a copy of the original file to \windows then I will have a ROM file that is not pointed and a RAM file that is pointed - a waste of storage on the RAM... good that these are small files... I will try now to do some work on the PhonePad files...

P.S. whatever u r working on, plz share with Omnian......

Guest Yunabeco Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Look for ANi_Poweroff.gif and Ani_Poweron.gif, in the same folder.

Guest nollie Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Nice changing the boring old start-up screen, cheers grandiotk. The other splash screens are looking pretty swish, though too so I may be tempted to switch
Guest biggy83 Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 (edited) Here is my splash screen that I've been using for over 2 weeks. It's simple yet classic and neat, also has the best and less time load. Enjoy! Edited October 21, 2008 by biggy83
Guest echaya Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 resco 2007 can do this job perfectly, as I used this trick for my HTCs. However, the resco 2008 seems not support to replace the rom file... what a pity...
