Guest spgreenslade Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 My Orange SIM has a number of preconfigured numbers for customer service, traffic news etc. These appear in the address book. I recently hit the 'Intl Dir Enq' (1118880) contact by mistake on the touchscreen while trying to dial an adjacent number. Despite cancelling the call as soon as possible, it got connected and appears on my bill as a two second duration, £2 fixed charge  . I would like to delete this number so that it cannot happen again, but a padlock symbol appears against the contact and I have not been able to delete it from the SIM even using other handsets. Has anyone got a work around for this? Even hiding SIM contacts from the contacts list would be a solution, but I can't find a way to configure this. It is not possible to bar this number via customer services, so the risk of of subsequent unwanted £2 hits remains.
Guest Yunabeco Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 (edited) I don't know about a way to delete the sim contacts, but you can hide them by changing the registry key ShowSIM in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone to 0 (soft reset may be needed). Thanks Yunabeco, that's a great suggestion and exactly what I was hoping to do. Could save a few quid too. Thanks again! Steve
