What version of Windows Mobile?

Hi!

I'm relatively new to Windows mobile as i'm hoping to get a Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 - when it's finally released! I was wondering, with all of the seemingly different versions of Windows Mobile - what versions of software should I download once I have got the handset. I know it runs Windows Mobile 6.1 professional - but is it pocket pc, smartphone or what!

Any help will be appreciated!

Basically the X1 is a PocketPC device, Microsoft has chosen to rename all

versions of handheld phone devices as smartphones which unfortunately confuses people. Basically if it has a touchscreen it's a PocketPC non touchscreens are what we used to call Smartphones.

So, if I want to download any software for the phone, I would choose PocketPC software?

Yes, the only thing you may have issues with is the size of the screen, this resolution may cause some applications not to display correctly. Only trial and error will help here.

Always try a demo of an application first to be safe.
