Guest nalab1 Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Hi! I'm relatively new to Windows mobile as i'm hoping to get a Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 - when it's finally released! I was wondering, with all of the seemingly different versions of Windows Mobile - what versions of software should I download once I have got the handset. I know it runs Windows Mobile 6.1 professional - but is it pocket pc, smartphone or what! Any help will be appreciated! Alan
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 Welcome to the site  Basically the X1 is a PocketPC device, Microsoft has chosen to rename all versions of handheld phone devices as smartphones which unfortunately confuses people. Basically if it has a touchscreen it's a PocketPC non touchscreens are what we used to call Smartphones.

Only trial and error will help here. Always try a demo of an application first to be safe.
