Guest Mysterious Stranger Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 $399 w/o service from t-mobile - I've not back for a few months in the U.S ( and I'm on AT&T on my US account) so I've bought two w/o service via a friend - anybody else? I'm assuming like other t-mob USA HTC devices the simlock will allow t-mob uk sims but anyone know how to unlock yet? The store rep said no... M.S
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Hmmm, interesting. Can you use UK 3G on the T-Mo US model? Difference frequency no? P

P HTC say you can.... http://www.htc.com/www/product/g1/specification.html "Network HSPA/WCDMA: Europe: 2100 MHz US:1700/2100 MHz Up to 7.2 Mbps down-link (HSDPA) and 2 Mbps up-link (HSUPA) speeds Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz " M.S
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Does that mean the US version has 1700/2100 and the European version has 2100? Fingers crossed that's not the case... P
Guest J273 Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Hmmm..hopefully its going to work...Ive just bought one from ebay

Mine are despite being ordered in as 'offline' by t-mob USA. Currently unlocking can be done for $22.99 online. Note you *will* need an active U.S or UK t-mobile sim with a data connection to start up a brand new handset as otherwise you can't register a google account and can't use the phone at all other than emergency calls. M.S
Guest J273 Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Great news..Thanks Mines getting delivered tomorrow from the US
Guest Mysterious Stranger Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Great news..Thanks Mines getting delivered tomorrow from the US How much was it ( assuming you don't get hit for duty)?
