Guest vampyre69 Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Well here goes not sure how many mac peeps have actualy bothered to look at the SPV and get one (I did) but anyway.... Want your mp3 as a ringing tone? Simple will clarify/tidy these steps up later. What you need.... OS X (Pref 10.2) / Quicktime 6 PRO Version / A mp3 file. -Step One- Make a copy of your tune rename it with a .wav extension over the .mp3 if there is no extension then just add .wav (this needs to be done so that windows can relate the file as a wav). OS X will ask you if you want to keep the .mp3 or use .wav select use .wav OS X will now convert the file into .wav format and keep the extension. Tip : I beleive a 9 sec to 29 sec length is ok if I'm wrong let me know. -Step 2- Now get your self Quicktime 6 Pro'd up and here we go. Open QT6 Pro and open your wav, edit the section of the song you want as a ringing tone and copy paste into a new player document now export it as 'filename'.wav Save it as a self contained mavie file using the following settings..... 32000 8bit mono/stereo. -Step 3- Now sync it to your phone in the sounds folder if you do not know how to do this visit www.bornsloppy.co.uk and view their sounds page for details. Now this should work but not tested yet thought I would put finger to keyboard before I forgot. Will let you all know tomorrow. NOTE: this may work with windows too, if you can convert the mp3 beforehand. Laterz
