Guest rodrigorajao Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Hi again!! I'm having some camera issues, as follows: 1. Pictures shake like I have Parkinson's. Even with the anti-shake feature on, I can barely shoot still pics. It's really annoying. 2. Pics taken without flash have almost perfect contrast/brightness, indoors or out. However, turn the flash on and pics become washed out or completely white. I tried changing the auto settings (indoors, party, etc.) but no go. What gives?? I'm definitely no pro, but I own a few real cameras (including an old 5MP Cannon) and I never had the aforementioned problems. Am I doing something wrong or is the Omnia camera really bad?? Are all high end phone cameras (N95, Innov8, etc.) really this awful??

U need to be weary of where u are using this phone as a camera and will need to use the correct setting i.e portrait, indoor party, night shot etc.. if u manage the get the correct setting which is not that difficult you will be able to take some wonderful pictures. give it a go and see if it gets any better
Guest mobilehappy Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 For shots requiering flash try to set it in Makro mode , this makes the flash less "bright white" and the pictures gets more "real" colors.

Guest mobilehappy Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) But then you'll miss the focus if I'm not wrong Still you will usually get a better end result for shots with flash where the main objective is within lets say 1 1/2 meter or so of your position. Just give it a try and see if it works for you. Edited November 3, 2008 by mobilehappy
Guest moldowan Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) Two things that really helped me shooting better pictures with my omnia: 1. Push the ISO-Level to the max! This will only improve picture quality in SCN-mode of course... 2. To minimize shaking, press the D-Pad to take the picture. Another thing you could try when shooting pictures in dark surroundings with the flash: Use the Sports mode! Edited November 3, 2008 by moldowan
Guest imacken Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Biggest pain for me is that it doesn't save the sharpening/saturation/contrast settings! They have to be reset every time - what a pain.
