Pocket Sheild

I emailed the website about this coming to the omnia...this is what i got back?

No plans for now. As far as I know there is no reversed sensor library for Omnia. If you know about any light sensor library or SDK for Omnia just let me know, no extra big deal would be needed as it runs WM too so should be easily ported.

anyone know if this is available if the SDK is available?

I would'nt call stealing someone's idea and then commercialising it as "a really cool app".

i am not sure i follow bobo's response, and i thought it was a cool app because of the way it can be locked and unlocked...i dont have an omnia yet, as vz hasnt released the NA version yet...

the admin at the site emailed me this and posted it on their blog

Some users have requested support for Omnia i900. The truth is that PocketShield was developed targeting HTC sensors only.

BUT...

There's an emulator to make HTC Accelerometer applications work on the Omnia / i900. We have NOT TESTED it because we don't have such device. Anyway here it is and you are free to try.

1. Download: http://www.1800pocketpc.com/blog/wp-conten...8/10/htcemu.zip

2. Copy the 2 files from HTCEmu.zip into windows directory of your phone.

Soft reset. I guess?

Please let now any news on this.

Sorry about the misunderstanding - thought you were aware of slide2unlock which is a free app that does all that the commercial app does. Actually has been around 2+ years and has a huge following. It is regularly updated and works on almost all winmo devices (not just HTC ones).

does the slide2unlock offer the unlocking by a shale gesture? I only ask as I've been through the settings and cant find it?

It wont work by simply removing it from its case, as the commercial app does, but its simple enough to swipe your finger across the screen.

Prevents my pocket from dialling someone!

I've actually had numerous problems with slide2unlock, to the point where I had to uninstall it cuz it was driving me nuts.

It didn't work as nicely once i received a call, the screen just flickered constantly and refused to receive my sliding gesture.

In the end I missed all those calls, had to unlock it then call back.

And it oddly enough kept shutting down the built in audio player after a few seconds when the keypad was locked.

Maybe it was my settings though?

If not then i'd be interested in a port of this program, as the standard lock on the omnia doesn't go back to sleep once i get

a missed call or something.
