Guest jinx_uk_98 Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Gents, I'm runnning SPB Mobile v2.1. Is it possble to still install the other good apps reccomended here? Or does the SPB 'sit' on ontop of everything?? Apoligies but I'm struggling to understand where the SPB sits in the the windows mobile/samsung firmware/application hierarchy. Many thanks Kevin.

Hi Kevin, SPB is just a shell, so you can install whatever programs you like, they will all appear within the program button within SPB. I'm not sure where it 'sits' within WMobile, but i believe it 'sits' on top and just makes the WM experience a little more fancy. I'm using SPB v2.1 and i've installed tons of stuff (S2U2, Pauls OmniaSIP, ThumbCal etc etc) all with no issues whatsoever. Actually saying that, i tried to run iFonz and all it did was seriously screw up Mobile Shell (but then i realised i should have uninstalled SPB Mobile Shell before installing iFonz as per instructions - Doh - RTFM!!) Laterz DF
Guest 3shirts Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Yeah it is just a shell so apart from other shells you can install anything you like. I use Mobile Shell 2.1.2 and have all my other apps in there. I also use the themes from the 'Kick-ass mobile shell themes' thread in this forum and they make it a lot better
Guest jinx_uk_98 Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 ok cheers, I think I understand it. that slide to unlock app does work ok, it just doesn't lock when I hold down the right hardware key. does it for you? Also, I can get the gestures to work so I can quickly flick between screens. (ie down and left to the quick dial etc..) have you had any joy?
