Guest sharpman Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Hi guys... Just one question, do your Omnia suddenly turn off your phone service in wireless manager? (meaning your Omnia suddenly in flight mode). It happened to me three times already starting this week.. I cannot turn On back my phone service in wireless manager when it happened. I suspected that my simcard was faulty but the problem persists after I replaced my 5 years old simcard with a new one. My Omnia is on DXHI3 firmware btw..

I don't think it was battery issue for me. Once it happened right after my Omnia was fully recharged. Twice it happened when I was on the phone talking  Each time it happened, I need to turn off my Omnia for about 10 seconds then turn it on again. Using Soft Reset software won't fix it. Please help.. any more input is appreciated

Guest finaldestiny Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 I don't have this problem but can someone confirm if this works? I think i'll start a thread for fixes of these odd bugs in omnia
Guest sharpman Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 I had a similar issue, turning auto time update OFF resolved the issue for me. Thanks for your suggestion  I just did a hard reset before reading your reply and proceed to turn off auto time update. To confirm with you, the feature need to be turn off via Settings --> System --> Clock & Alarms --> More --> Time Zone updating: Manual Only . Is this the correct setting? I don't have this problem but can someone confirm if this works? I think i'll start a thread for fixes of these odd bugs in omnia I will wait several days to see whether my problem is solved. The frequency of my problem re-occuring varies from twice in one day or twice in one week.

On a different note, I have noticed that the time widget on Samsung Widgets is not linked to the system time and doesnt handle day light saving. Samsung widget time is not reliable and not sure how this may interfrere with other linked programs which are dependent on time.

Okay, well if its a fix, then you can add it to this thread i'm putting together to help other users find fixes for problems like these. Hope all goes well
Guest sharpman Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Update: nope my Omnia still turn off Phone mode randomly.. I guess it is faulty.. I need to send back my Omnia
Guest Lowbytes Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 My Omnia also sometimes switch to flight mode. BUT - this is always when Battery is very low - It would be better if the phone will notify low power and asks for switching to flight mode. On the old Rom Phone was switched off completely..... So hmmmm .... whats better???
Guest nostraduckus Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 This has started happening to me every time I reset the phone. But I notice if I let the phone goto standby, ie letting it go to a black screen, and then waking it with the middle button, it turns the phone back on. it will say no service for a little while and then find the network. Very annoying. any fixes would be appreciated. in the middle of reflashing, im using m2d04..will let you know what happens Hi guys...
