Hi there,

Could anybody please extract and download the SilverInBox .exe file from windows.

I have downloaded Pauls cooked rom and now find that I really miss the SilverInbox app.

Now that we have found how to default opening by reg edit it is a much better looking app to use than windows.

There may be an assosiated .dll file as well if there is it should be just under or close to the .exe file.

Thanks to anyone who can help

Cheers...

I might be outdated here, but can we change the default messaging application to silverinbox? can we can we can we? :D

is there anything wrong with silverinbox? oh I'm so excited... ;)

Found it:

1. Go into the registry to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Samsung \MiniToday

2. change the silverinbox to value 1.

3. soft reset the omnia.

"copied"

However, I use the main menu a lot, but when I open the messaging application from it, it always opens to the SMS, and the WM one... how did this registry key changed things? how does it make silver inbox the default program?

another thing, from experience, silverinbox is still not stable is it? is it the case for everybody?

Would you care to share? (I assume this is allowed). I'm running the MCR01 ROM and never knew SilverInbox could be made default - I'd quite like to try it and see what it's like.

ahh i see what you mean. It works fine from the today screen but when opening from the main menu the windows one is called...it should just be a matter now of redirecting where that main menu icon points to?

SilverInbox has a big space to the left of the messages in list view, SilverInbox doesn't bold unread messages, SilverInbox = not much use...

IMHO YMMV etc. etc.

exactly, only from today 1 or today 2, which I don't use, I like the widgets interface and extensively use the main menu! so the silver inbox doesn't work for me!

on another note, is it true for everybody that the silver inbox app shows the "to" field instead of the "from" in the emails view? I believe it works fine with the SMS view right?

I wonder if Samsung is working on this and other hidden surprises for us in the near future!

Hmm nope, it shows the 'to' field instead of the 'from' field in my SMS view...don't have any email accounts setup at the moment to check the email.

I was wondering why it showed my number in the all the messages. Its a shame its only half finished though, i think i might make this my mini project for now

ok guys,

loads of responses.

I solved the problem by going into Kitchen and down loading what I needed.

Job done.

I llike SilverInBox it has a much better interface than the windows app.

I know its not quite complete but it still works.

I use samsung Today Screen 1 and when enabled through the regedit the SMS/MMS select goes straight to the SilverInBox app.

It is clear decisive and untold better than the Micsosoft windows pane that comes up.

I like it and I hope that Samsung tweak it so that it will be intergrated into the system.

Just my opinion but I do like the Samsung apps and do hope that they keep on improving them to intigrate with the rather clunky windows interface.

I have done the tweak for it to work from the today 2 screen and the only issue for me now is that is does not show the recipient on sent messages. A very minor inconvenience considering how slick the interface is B) and I am sure this will get sorted with more time B)

Can someone put an image of this silverinbox app? I'm really curious to see if it's really finger friendly.

By your signature looks like your running HJ1...

You will find SilverInbox.exe in your windows folder....may have to unlock hidden files..

Just copy and paste as shortcut to start menu and it will appear in your menus from then on.

What complete bull. If you had taken the time to read you'd see that I posted a direct link to it further up. It's too much to just read one damned page? Ridiculous.

Hey why don't you shut up and keep your stupid remarks for yourself ! When I posted this there was only SilverInbox.exe attached and if you don't know yet this executable does not work by itself you need dlls to go with it...

So in the future, think before insulting people !

I can also see that this is not the first time that you insult people on posts (sometimes you are right but it is still inadequate !!)

If you have a problem with people find a girlfriend and have a good sex for a change.

Anyone know the possible parameters we can append to silverinbox.exe ?

for example for tmail.exe you can do tmail.exe -service "gmail"

It would be great so I can assign an icon to Silveinbox(SMS) and another to Silverinbox(email)

Thanks in advance!

Did Samsung completely abandon this or do we still have a chance of getting it?

I have the cab file installed in a D1 stock rom, but it keeps on crashing, is there a newer stable version of this?

thanks.

Is there a way to make it open on my gmail account instead of the sms inbox by default?
