Touch Diamond settings

Got one as upgrade, when msging the individual letters come up ie full querty. when i go to input settings there is an option for phone keypad etc but when i try to change it wont save. all other settings save, y is this?

PS should i have received an active sync and outlook cd cos their was none in box?
