SPB mobile shell with

i have spb mobile running with the skin set from this site

it currently is at rev 3.1 and is idiotproof when it comes to installing

however me(the idiot) can not figur out one thing

the standard spb skin gives you an a big X in the right lower corener for exiting the program.

However when i lot the skinset from the above site there are not 4 but 5 icons on the bottom

the X however is gone so how do we exit SPB mobile shell with this skin.

Well I downloaded the update zip and when I extracted it there was no MortScript so i still have 3.0 :lol:

you need to download the 3.1 update and extract it in the same place as v3.0

hen you need to run the install script again.

after that all items are updated to v3.1

just a couple of files are updated

I have installed this and would like to use this instead of the Windows today screen. I have done this by ticking 'Show the Now Screen when device wakes up'. However, when my Omnia goes to sleep and I wake it up, I just see a 'Close' soft-menu on the bottom left-hand side and there is no way for me to actually get back into my device. I have to soft-reset it each time. Nothing happens when I click on the 'Close' button.

On the other hand, if I lock the phone manually (by holding down the hangup button) - then its fine; Instead of 'Close' I see unlock and I can unlock the device.

I have not PIN-protected my device so it cant be that.

i hv not been using Mobile Shell for a mth now.

but if my memory serve me....

to get to Window Today screen u can either press the End Call buttom

or swap down your finger from top of the screen to the middle or swap

up from buttom to middle, try it.

as for the non responsive Close left soft key, i believe u are using screen Lock

i do remember having problem w/ autolock

i do not hv a solution, but i hv stop using

stock screen lock. Try S2U2 is my advice.

When I try to install it I get a couple of errors running "Install_WQVGA.mscr" that says something like error creating files "Common\q\ something or other and when I try and change skin it breaks the insall of SPB mobile shell (can't even run it from the soft key or the item in programs.). When I change skin it asks me to configure the clock and buttons but gives me no options.

Strange,

did you install the latest skin(3.1)

i just copied the complete skinset to my storagecard

after that i ran mortscript to activate it

after that i clicked Install_WQVGA.mscr

the script only copies all the files to spb mobile shell

after this you have an extra icon in the extra map

click this and you can change skins

every skin givs you lots of options

if you press cancel it just uses the default for that option.

maybee you selected some kind of pincode on your device, phone, simcard

on my device i do not have any codes,anyware

backlight switches of after 30 seconds

poweroff after 1 minute

deselected the now screen on startup so it will not switch to the now screen

see if that helps

Well I finally got it working last night! Woo hoo. I had previously donwloaded the CAB file form SPB, this time I went with the installer through activeSync and away I went. Three real complaints are 1: Whilst the buttons images are on the website the notification Icons are not and neiter are the different Icons that appear at the bottom so it's a but trial and error as to what you get. 2: (and this is a bit anoying) the picture viewer doesn't let you scroll through or zoom into your pictures by stroking the screen. 3: Clicking the "E-mail" notification takes me to my Outlook E-mail which I don't use. I wish it was configurable to default to another account (SPB Problem?)

Appart from that it's pretty! Best get the credit card out then to purchase SPB shell!

you probably figured it out by now, but you can ofcourse press the end button to close spb and return to the today screen, or you can make a smart-gesture. i haven't got it installed right now, but i had it last week and i remember you can close spb by swiping your finger from top to bottom over the screen (or something like that :lol:).

even its very simple i just created a short video, a virtual pda wm6.1 is used for the demo, but the procedure is same also on omnia.

Absolutely love the mobile shell.

Only thing I don't get - on some skins there is a 4th icon on the Now screen called Items. I can't find anyway to full it with items though! I can customise the other menus from the settings menu etc - but not this one.

Any one have a solution?

When you customise the menus if you customise the "my menu" it fills in the items for this. Took me a while to figure that out. That and find the "Media album" so I can scrool through my pictures!

I am missing the Favorites status button (the one you press, you go to the "my menu". I have the "e-mail" ... the "SMS" and the "Call log" buttons, but missing the 4th one. Do you know where I can find it ?

Hi everyone I instaled the SPB 2.1.2 version and it works fine just that i have a smal problem the x/ok in the top of the screen dose not work all the time :) somone knows the problem?
