VMWARE VISTA UPDATE ???

Can someone explain me what is vmware? where i find it and how to do the rom update through vista in few simple steps? I dont have access to any xp machines :D curse vista tbh

Vmware is a virtual machine where you can run multiple os, in this case you can install xp on vista to update rom. I have update my Omnia once with Vmware running in Vista. The only precaution you need is to avoid running Vmware in windows mode because this will interupt the read/write of rom when the mouse is not in the vmware or the current active os is switch to Vista by accident.

Other precautions still apply as usuals when you update rom on Xp running in Vmware

1 . Make sure that Xp can detect your usb port

2. Install all the necessary modem driver

3. copy the xp update rom in your vmware disk drive

Not sure if anyone posted results or even tried it, but there is no reason why it should not work. Just like XP, make sure you install the samsung modem driver first. Then it's just a matter of executing the downloaded rom which should self install.
