Hello,

Since the day i bought my Omnia I have always problems with my battery. I charged it whole night and in morning its 100%.... Since I have other 2 mobiles I hardly use omnia for call. I just sms 2-3 times and call 1-2 times and in afternoon my battery is less then half and in evening before i reach home its gone. Does it mean I have some problems with my battery? Secondly, the back side of omnia gets hot when using music player or GPS or any other application for 5-10 minutes... Is that natural?

Thanks again for reply

Have you tried updating your ROM to a newer version? You can try to turn off 3G, if you need help let me know with that.

I had the same problem as u. I was on DXHH3 rom (came with my phone). Only lasted me 1 day with minimal usage, i was a little worried as to what was the cause. So i flashed it to HJ1, as i read that HH3 was really bad for battery life. And true enough, it's now the 2nd day since i charged it. And its still at 70%.

Bottomline is, don't use HH3!

zkyevolved many thanks. I would appreciate if you can tell me how to turn off 3G, as here in thailand 3G services has not started yet. And if I turn it off, can I turn on when the 3G services are provided by providers? and My Device : PDA : i900DXHH3/DXHH3 ; PHONE : i900DXHH3 which ROm should I update? I am very much confused with HH1, HH2 and HH3??? Which one is the latest? I am planning to update to manila2D but i am totally clueless how to do it. Should I follow the step-by-step guide by Paul Here ??

Thanks in advance for the help!

Should I installed the samsung modem driver in my PC and run the HJ1.exe from my PC?

Yes, first install the modem driver on your windows XP machine (from what I've heard on VISTA it doesn't always work, and so I've been doing it on my XP machine just in case). THen plug in your phone, let your PC recognize it, and then run the software. If you want the M2D version, you can download their version:

http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-omnia-r...uc-dthj6-m2d02/

I'm using this one, it's pretty good. Battery life is decent if you don't use a lot of data services. I've listened to about an hour and a half of music, and taken some pictures and just played around on the phone for a little (+2 phone calls) and it's lost a bar  So it's not bad (after 6 hours of the day). I will try HJ1 sooner or later, and see how it goes, but I really like the M2D versions! They're slick ;).

Here's how to turn off 3G (which I have turned off regardless of the ROM version, since I don't use too much data on this phone, not like my blackberry!)

*#1546792*# - (Executes \Windows\AdminSettings.exe) Shows the Administrator Settings menu. In there:

1. Version - Shows a menu where you can access the version numbers for the PDA and the Software (redirects to the Settings Version applet)

2. Preconfiguration - Password is *#81230*#. Allows to preconfigure the Omnia Operator settings by changing the country and operator. Note: Changing this will hard-reset the device. This won't lock the device with the specified operator.

3. Network-Call Setting:

>1. Power On Attach: (Attach [default] or Detach) ???

>2. Service Domain: (Combined [default], CS or PS) Changes which service domain to use.

>3. Network mode: (Auto [default], GSM or WCDMA) Changes the data connexion mode. WCDMA is 3G.

>4. Network order (Auto [default], GSM first, WCDMA first or No change) Changes which mode to try first when connecting, with Network Mode on Auto.

Hope this helps :D

I get about 2 days use from my Omnia........and i'm an ex-nokia n95/96 man, so having 48 hours without having to re-charge is something of a dream!

If only someone could talk me through a step by step guide on how to install the lightsaber app ( accelerometer)

Sorry for drifting off-topic B)
