Guest couzo Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I have just used syncmate to sync my bookmarks, ical, itunes, iphotos, notes, time and to dos. I set the iphoto and itunes to sync to my storage rather than the internal memory. Now the internal memory is totally full meaning i cannot receive text messages and I cannot see why this is as all folders are pretty much empty. Is there a good way to check the internal memory properly? Many thanks
Guest couzo Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Also is there a way to have everything save be in bluetooth tranfers etc to the my storage part of the phone?
Guest adzrm Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 i wrote a similar post yersteday evening.. no answers yet
Guest couzo Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 if you work it out please let me know. I have managed to free up some space as you can mount the phone as a drive with syncmate to delete files and browse through the phone easier which is a kind of temp fix but we shall see.
Guest helladios Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Here is a screen capture of my root directory. As you can see, there is no "My Storage". Instead, the "My Documents" has a little MMC sign next to it. Automatically, all programs are installed under "My Documents" now (if not in ROM). Additionally to the 16 Mb of "My Documents", I have a card of another 16 Mb which you can see as "Storage Card". I have also modified the registry, so that for photos, videos, music, ringtones etc. it defaults to the relevant directory under "My Documents". No problems so far!
Guest couzo Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 that looks like a great idea, can you tell us how to do it?

Read your solution in the other thread (search and replace all references of "My Storage" to "My Documents" in the registry, rename your current My Documents, softreset, move all contents of the old My Documents to the new My Documents). Haven't tried it yet, but kudos to you if it works. Will probably try it later on. In the future, however, I'd suggest not using a doctored screen capture. It makes us kind of wonder about the veracity of your work. I mean no need to frame it in a mock up of the Omnia. Also looks like something was cut-n-pasted just above "Program Files" obscuring the top of the P and the F.
Guest Quist09 Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I tried helladios' solution and it works with one exception. When updating my contacts via ActivSync with my Exchange server, I kept getting an error that the "voice link recording directory" could not be found. After several glitches with this, the system seemed to slow down. Now it seems to have leveled back out though. Not yet sure this is worth it at the end of the day, but keeping it for the mean time.
Guest notAWindowsLover Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 How did you manage to sync it with syncmate??? i've been trying for hours now and i cant get it to connect... The SyncMate Driver did not self-install in my mobile, i had to transfer it directly into the mobile and i finally got the transparent sign of "Connecting" but after it disapears and it stays unconnected, i've already tryied seting my mobile as a mass storage or to use ActiveSync but it just won't work. Any suggestions??? Thank You
Guest Chugworth Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 I have a question about this. On Windows Mobile devices, why is the system flash memory so small? For example, the i910 has 256Mb of flash memory for the root folder with Windows, and then an additional 8Gb of flash memory listed under "My Storage." This seems so asinine. Why not just give the system 8GB of flash memory for everything? Why must the large memory be separate?
