Why don't you map it to my documents folder in my storage?

This will be neeter and more organized!

Ok, now if you can findout how to make my storage accessable all the time even when the phone is in standby, that would make the best out of your solution and make u really the best!

can't wait. please keep us posted and post the method used.

If you don't mind me asking, what is holding you from sharing this solution and why didn't you share it in the first post?

Are you preparing a demonstrative video?

Then it would use more power, depends how often it would look at the storage location.

this power thing, I know... why is it only on WM devices? you'd never know...

sorry for late replay - girl came first ;-)

here is the solution

i prepered a reg file - you can just import it (read complete what the regfile do)

first at all the to-do to map the storage card to my documents

please follow EXACTLY the steps - i do not guarantee - it works for me

IMPORTEND: before you import the regkeys

rename the My Documents in My Documents_old

Make sure the My documents folder is empty

Modify the registry

Rename the original My documents folder.

Power off your device and let it sit for 15 sec. Power up.

You should be able to sync to the storage card as My Documents.

Copy the content from the old "My Documents_old" to the new mapped "My Documents"

make sure following regkeys are set to:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\PCMCIA]

"Folder"="My Documents"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMMC]

"Folder"="My Documents"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\SDMemory]

"Folder"="My Storage"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\MMC\PocketFS]

"Folder"="My Documents"

before everybody modify the registry please wait till 2 or 3 post confirm that all works. i tried it

3 times (always whit reset from the wm6)

the attached regfile do also

- disable window animations (minimizing/maximizing) and speed up performance of the UI a bit

- disable menu animations (sliding in/out) and speed up performance of the UI a bit

- increase the font cache, speeding up font rendering at the cost of a bit of memory

- enable the FileSystem cache, speeding up overall

- increase the file system cache

- enable the file system filter cache, speeding up overall performance with file mangement

- kinda realtime memory defragmenter

- Call History Size

- powersave mode activate

- set Bluetooth Name to i900omnia

- Deleted SMS number 50

- map the storage to My Documents

rename the attached file from "finally.reg.bmp" to "finally.reg"

to import the keys use your regeditor of your trust

please give feedback back for other user

thx all

Um, am I missing something or did you maybe forget to attach the reg file?

The other guy, helladios, said he went through and changed ALL references to My Storage in the registry to My Documents, renamed the old My Documents file, softreset, move over all stuff from the old My Documents to the new and delete. Sounds roughly similar to your solution, but he says he no longer has a My Storage folder at all.

On the other hand, his "screen dump" is doctored, so it's hard to tell.

Advantage of your solution may be that those of us who've already installed things to My Storage should still be able to use them. Disadvantage may be a risk of duplicates in the directory structure (e.g. for some reason a program may try to save something to a directory with the same name under My Documents and My Storage, but only one of the directories will be saved).

so If I understand correctly, after doing these modifications, when I open the My Documents folder, it will open the My Storage directly, or a My Documents folder in the My Storage drive?

Thanks for your work.

file is attached now

the picture attached in the first post is not "doctored"

it is a screen from my file explorer

you are right - if you have installed programms already to my storage (internal 16 gb) have to reinstall. you should have a clean installed mobile (would recommend)

no program save to both places (My Documents and My Storage). wm is designed that all will be saved to my documents. the most parts are changeable in the registry - exept for office. you get always a errormessages.

normally you have

- my documents (in the rom)

- my storage (16 gb internal memory)

- storage card (additional memory card)

after mod you get

- my documents (16 gb)

- storage card (additional memory card)

my documents goes to your internal 8 or 16 gb (depends on what version of omnia you have)

You are wrong Quist09. I chased Helladios all over the forum and finally contacted Helladios via PM. He gave me the goods last night on how to do it. It is different that the method listed here but it works (see WMV attachment). Everyone should think twice and ask questions before calling someone a troll and casting despersions on thier character and sencerity <_< . Modaco is not that kind of place  :o . Thanks to Pille69 AND Helladios for putting in some work and helping out all the Omnia Users

EDIT:I sent a PM to him to post his method ;) :D

well in reality why would we want My Documents with the Internal sotrage of 16gig..

This is kind of cool cause hypothetically you can even do Application Folder or Program Files, or whatever takes the most amount of memory.

i would if we could back up windows folder, rename it and then add my storage as windows cause really it's only reading WINDOWS than

EDIT:: in the reg, there is even a partition table etc folder etc, i wonder what all those things mean lol

I wonder If we could paritin the 16gig to like 3 seperate storage spaces, and rename them My Documents, Application data, and Program Files?

I wonderrrr

My screen capture was and is not doctored at all! Please, refer to the people who have done it and sent me credits. I do not care that someone used my picture, but do not say it was "doctored". We are trying to help each other here, not to take any credits.

Here is another capture from Resco Explorer.

Question: 2 questions:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\INAND] <-----------------------------

Should you not change the "Folder" Reg file from My Storage to My Documents, cause currently it says My Storage, and if you change it all will be lined up?

I apologize if you took offense, but as I wrote in one of the other threads where you posted this screen dump, why not just post a regular screen dump like Pille69's.

Honestly, I don't really know how a screen dump gets a picture framed in a mock-up of the Omnia without somehow adjusting it - the screen is just the screen. On the original image, I also noted some pixelation just below the My Documents that cuts off the tops of the P and the F of "Program Files".

I'm just saying that the image you posted in itself prevented me from trying this for more time than it normally would have otherwise.

So, that said, after confirmation from others, I did try it - and yes, I followed the short-form method I outlined above (a summary of helladios' description elsewhere) and it worked. So kudos to helladios.

Still, I ran into some problems with an error "Cannot find voice link recording directory" when updating my contacts from my Exchange Server. Not sure if it's related, but never saw it before.

I tried this, created a registry file and imported it with FCDSoft Taskmanager, rebooted the phone and it now seems to be working. My Documents is now My Storage and so far no problems. I will be testing for now and hoping everything will work out! Will post further fingins here ..
