Guest Flash_Gordon Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Hi, I had a few probs with S2U2 so reverted back to the phones own screen lock system of holding the Call End button to lock the phone. However sometimes the 'Unlock' statement above the Call Button on the screen turns into 'Close' and no matter what I press - nothing happens. I usually have to remove and re-insert the battery at this point. What does the Close represent and is there a way to use Lock/Unlock without this occuring? Cheers FG

Cheers FG This has just started happening to me too, i've never had S2U2 installed. Sometimes, the phone just stope responding properly. SPB mobile shell will respond but no apps will run (including system ones like phone!). Often turning off (just standby) and on will resolve but not always. I'm on ROM MCR01
Guest Flash_Gordon Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 This has just started happening to me too, i've never had S2U2 installed. Sometimes, the phone just stope responding properly. SPB mobile shell will respond but no apps will run (including system ones like phone!). Often turning off (just standby) and on will resolve but not always. I'm on ROM MCR01 I have gone back to S2U2 for now....until I can find a fix for the Close situation. Does anyone happen to know what the "Close" soft-key is supposed to represent? If the Omnia manual was any more vague it could be talking about another phone entirely! But the main problem I had with S2U2 previously was when a call did come through....everything was fine but on trying to slide it would not open - it seemed to have locked the slider and I would miss the call. So I turned the 'slide to answer' off and went to an S2U2 on screen button/soft-key and it seemed to freeze/lock when a call came thru' also on most occasions. I am beginning to think that maybe the phone does not like sbp mobile shell. As no matter what firmware I use, I have problems with incoming calls (ringer cuts off after a couple of seconds, etc.) and the S2U2 problem... After any firmware updates PRIOR to installing the mobile shell again everything is fine. But I really like the spb mobile shell and the skins I have now set it up with.... Cheers FG
Guest bobobird Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Not an issue with spb. I dont have spb shell installed (only spb backup) and s2u2 behaves in the same way. Sometimes slide to unlock closes the phone, but if trying to restart using the powerbutton, the s2u2 screen sort of shows up and the phone powers down. So it did not actually close the phone but somehow put it into some sort of suspended mode which only a power recycle will restore. What i have done now is disable all s2u2 functions except caller id (i prefer a large screen rather then the tiny omnia screen). Seems to be working but still testing to see if this part is stable.
Guest Natsirt Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Instead of using the End key to lock the phone, you could try to use the "device lock" item that u can put in the today screen. Just tap it to lock. however unlocking is the same and i dont know if you'll still encounter the same problem. Hope that helps!
