Hi guys!

I've got a big problem!

it seems that i bricked my phone by updating the firmware from XGHG5 to the DTHJ6 from here in the forum.

First i installed the samsung modem driver then i downloaded and startet the DTHJ6.exe file.

I took my fully charged i900 (nearly 80% charged) and put it via USB at my win XP laptop. (i900 is still not on!)

then i startet the omnia by pressing the power button.

the programm on the laptop startet. PDA bootet and went off. then i got this message at my laptop and the pda wont do anything (still after waiting for 30 minutes)

i900ty3.jpg

My display is black (its not on!) and the red light at the power button is on.

After waiting another few minutes i took the battery from the phone and put it back again.

But nothing works. If i press the reset button, nothing happens. After pressing the power button for more than 3 seconds, the red light goes on, but nothing else - no display or sounds.

although i couldn't put it off by pressing the power button again. the red light is still on.

only by removing the battery, the red light will go off.

when i plug the phone to the laptop it won't be recognized - neither by the program or by windows itself.

if i plug the phone to the charger (not on the usb charger), the red light wents on and the battery seems to charge because the pda gets little hot at the lower side.

Now i'm confused what i could do..

Hard reset by pressing the two call buttons and the power button won't work.

Any idea, how i could get my omnia alive again???

i need it for work so it would be very good if there are some pro's who could help me.

i had the same 'waiting for reboot' message when i first flashed mine, however i just powered the unit off/on again without removing the USB cable and it carried on flashing. Have you tried plugging the omnia back into the pc with the power off and then turning it on ?

I have re-flashed the unit 3 times since and haven't had this problem again. I'm sure the cause of the problem was because i only soft reset the unit before flashing the first time, all the other times i did a hard reset before flashing.

Over the night i charged the phone about 7 hours with the standard charger and the light is still red.

normally it should be green when the battery is charged for this long time.

at the height of the sim-card area it is very warm - the rest of the phone is not warm..

any ideas or suggestions what i could do now?

EDIT: I tested the battery and it says 4,17 volts.. so i think it should be charged, shouldn't it?

from what i've read, as long as you've got the omnia logo the bootloader will be running, so it's possible to repair the phone using grandprix.

Just got my shiney new vodafone omnia home, read up on "how to flash" using a old xp machine I had lying in the corner of my room and guess what........ Part 1 went fine till it said ... Waiting for reboot.. Now I have blank screen and red power button.

I would never of guessed flashing this samsung would be such a mine field  And trust me I've cooked and flashed HTC phones 100's of times.

HI, Try Press the Call and End Call at same time, then press reset, if you phone also doesn't work, in my experience your phone is dead, because I just face this situation one week ago, I sent to CS they replaced my phone main board.
