Guest k3wlas Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 my auto-backlight off or auto-power off doesn't work. the light still stays on even though i stop using the phone. This happened after my fone was fully drained and i charged it to 100%. I tried the settings to switch off the power and backlight after 1 minute of not using it but still not working..before it was working fine...Now, what i do is press the power button for a second to turn off the screen but this process is too tiresome...
Guest DarkBolt Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I have just been searching the forum for the answer to this question too and have not found a satisfactory answer yet. My observations are that certain applications when running (even in the background) override the power save options to prevent the screen from automatically switching off. I have tried a couple of audio players, and when something is playing the screen does not switch off unless you tap the power button, but this is not a solution since as soon as an event happens the screen turns permanently back on again. Close all running applications, and the screen turns off according to the power settings. In some applications, i.e. TomTom, it is quite useful that the screen does not turn off but I would much prefer applications to obey the phones power safe options rather than make their own mind up about what to do. Anyone figured out a solution to this?
