Skype disconnects when the phone locks and shuts off screen

Skype calls disconnect when the phone locks and shuts off the screen.

Have anyone experienced it ? Is there an elegant way to avoid it for skype?

You're Skype is installed in the "My Storage" space right?

This is not an Omnia problem, this is a windows mobile problem of handling the My Storage drive "or any external drive!", when it goes to standby, it will dismount the drive, and anything installed in it won't work properly.

I "still" wish the My Storage is utilized better...

I'd imagine it's because you have wifi power save mode on ?

with this feature enabled, it switches off wifi when the phone goes into standby mode.

wifi power saving is off and happens the same using 3g ... i installed it on my storage! that's the problem?? the internal memory is too low to install programs :lol:

install it on internal memory if you want it on all the time, however My Storage cannot handle real-time applications very well, sadly.

instead i think there must be a solution... also the mp3 player(touchplayer) stops playing music when screen is off! this is not accetable... i even set in the battery setting to keep the phone alive(the first option,i have italian rom)

by the way i contacted samsung technical support they'll call me back!

Sry for bringing up an old topic but I am hoping zagzag99 can tell me what version of skype he is using. I installed the 2.5 beta version and it crashes everytime i want to make or accept a call. Version 2.2 wont even launch :rolleyes:

i think gavzter is right. so disable the wifi power save mode.
