Guest Master Bation Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 Hi there, Ive fallin in love with the Omnia. Could somebody please explain how I can make an english version, bought in the US to a danish version? While explaining please have in mind that im like a 3 year old when it comes to this...
Guest gravityz Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 well first of al stay away from every romupdate on this forum because fast experience is needed for this stick with the original Samsung updates on the samsung site. in the netherlands we could download a "language update file" which actually is a new rom but gives you the ability to switch the language after it installes and reboots. you better check the samsung site for this. there are roms, manuals etc for this i am not trying to scare you but lots of people have bricked their phones some because they did not know what they were doing others who exactly new what to do still ended up with a bricked phone so no guaratees if you stick to the official roms. Well, like I wrote: Im like a 3 year old... I cant seem to find ROM etc availlable for download anywhere at samsungs site. But Ive been reading a lot of advises at this forum and others too. And my question is, how do I convert my Omnia from the english language to the danish language? I understand I must download something and then somehow install it on the omnia. But how, what and (from) where?
Guest gravityz Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 This should be the danisch page currently there is no rom available so you will have to wait. http://www.samsung.com/dk/support/download..._ia_cd=01013200 the one in the netherlands only came available about a month ago. here is what the dutch page looks like, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS, danisch language is not supported http://www.samsung.com/nl/support/download..._ia_cd=01013200 Well, like I wrote: Im like a 3 year old... Guest craig46 Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 I have a Dutch Vodafone Omnia. I had it flashed at a Vodafone shop, so it is now in English. If I download the mli from your link, gravityz, will it give me the choice to switch fron English to Dutch??

No update is reliable. I bricked my phone when I tried to update my rom that was on the samsung website.
Guest gravityz Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 NO IT WILL NOT you have a vodafone branded omnia which can only be flashed with another vodafone rom, not the standard samsung rom if vodafone comes out with a new rom it will probably give you the option to change the language to dutch. there have been reports that people flashed the standard rom into avodafone phone causing it to brick(eg you have to send it back) somehow they installed some kind of protection. yes offcourse there are also many who flashed it anyway but you need special tools for this and still thee are risks better wait for the vodafone rom. I have a Dutch Vodafone Omnia. I had it flashed at a Vodafone shop, so it is now in English.
