using iFonz with i900, or a better alternative?

anyone out there using iFonz with their omnia i900? could really use a hand here with the configurations and also some theme packs or perhaps some advice as to how to create my own themes using some iphone themes.

well actually, if anyone can suggest a good alternative to iFonz, i'd sure like to know bout it as well. please do share.

- ifonz is good already (exept a couple of time chrashes)

- if you cant customize ifonz then you chould go back to nokia ;-); its so easy = look at the settings. should be all clear. you can customize every icon, exe, backround transparentcy and whatever

hmm ok thanks. but is there some way to replace the main menu soft button with iFonz? or if not, how do you, or anyone else, open iFonz?

if iFonz is an alternative to the omnia's main menu, it should be as easy to access. i'd like to know how you guys get it started.

also, do you find that the omnia heats up pretty bad while using iFonz?

are you using iFonz 1.1.2? the file i got from the developer's website was a zip file which i extracted using my pc, then copied the folder over to my omnia and run iFonz from there.

because of this, i find that there's no shortcut for iFonz that i can append to either my start menu or any of the buttons on the omnia. is there a way around this?

you could also try:

1. winterface

2. spb mobile shell with the imarche omnia theme that uses iphone icons.

You can configure iFonz to start at startup. so after the reset it always became accessible. Alternatively you can assign right upper key to iFonz. so you can start it with just one key press.

By the way ifonz is not alternativeless. You can try Winterface which is has better images than iFonz.

i managed to figure out how to set the key to iFonz. The odd thing is using iFonz, my omnia gets heated up pretty badly. i'm not sure if its normal but iFonz takes pretty long to start up too, assuming it isn't minimized, longer than any other program that i have that is. i wonder if this is normal? and if it is, does this mean that a regular iFonz user leaves iFonz minimized all the time? so that it doesn't have to go thru the slow startup and simply maximizes when needed.

as for winterface vs. iFonz, ultimately iFonz is a free program haha. until i find more positive reviews for winterface, i guess i'll stick to iFonz.

It's even works with the auto rotate, true there were sometimes a bit of time lag when switching from portrait to landscape or vice versa, but never more than 2 secs, so for me it's not a big deal. You can find many good icons for iFonz in xda-developers website. My favorit are the size 48x48. I can fit 16 icons + 5 fixed bottom icons, so 21 icons all together in one page....

I kept iFonz as my main screen, so I didn't need to start it up everytime (meaning no slow start up everytime).

Hello, in my opinion, forget about IFonz and switch to the latest Spb skins 3.1 and there you can realy choose between a lot of skins, you will have IPhone and Nokia express,HTC, Dimond,etc even you will have play station skin, i had it for 3 days now and i can say it is much fun and added life to My Omnia.

I also noticed that when switching from portrait to landscape or vice versa, the screen gets distorted for a few seconds before it goes back to normal. Any fix to this?

I liked Next-Generation skin for Homescreen++ (beta-freeware)

but didn't like the feel of it after M2D , sliding menu is be better than touch menu.

Although now I think M2d is very limited, have to go in and out of lots of menu's so might go back - but needs customising to own taste- but at least it can be completely customised.
