I am certain I'm a noob....

now that we got that covered, I am trying to get pocketSNES working with my BJ2 with using Windows Mobile 6.1, and it appears to be working properly.

I downloaded the getfile and pocketsnes153 cab files, put both on the phone in my documents. On the phone, I opened the getfile, went through the install process, no errors. I then opened the pocketsnes cab file, went through the install process, no errors. I downloaded a rom for a game I already own!!! then I placed the file in the pocketsnes folder in program files on the phone. I open pocketsnes on the phone, looks great (I have watched many videos and my pocketsnes looks the same as theirs). I go to options, Load Rom, Select my rom (Chrono Trigger), and it flashes back to the pocketsnes main screen like nothing happened... One time, it came up and said Rom Load Failed, but it then immediately flashed back.. I have tried reloading this several times and watched several different videos, read several things about it, but everything I read is for mobile 6..... so I thought maybe that was the reason :/ If this has been covered, please just link me to that, but I have read lots of things and not been able to find a fix.... I WILL SEND YOU MY PHONE TO GET THIS FIXED!!! lol

Thank You.

Welcome to the site B)

Sounds like you have the ROM file in the the wrong location?

It's been a long time since I played with pocketSNES, have a look in the Software section of the site there are a few topics there which may help.

did you try a different rom? im currently running pocketsnes on my blackjack 2 with windows mobile 6.0 and have no problems. There ARE roms that just dont work right. Out of probibly 200 SNES roms ive tried at least 50 of them didnt work or didnt work correctly. So I'd try some other roms.

I am using the Tilt with the HTC release of 6.1. Does the files have to stay only in the MY Documents folder on the device or can it be setto read from the storage card. I have an 8GB card and would rather not use the device mem. Thanks

I have tried all the settings as Praetora and I am receiving the same error. Whether I place on the storage card or device. Zipped or unzipped. I think 6.1 is out the loop for gaming..... B)

For those of you STILL having problems trying to change the display to landscape, go into the menu and change display options. When you see a selection of

ยค Portrait

O Landscape Left

O Landscape Right

Push > Right D-pad to change it to the next screen orientation when selected. Well over 18 months ago, I did not even know this at first. Thought it just WOULDN'T let me change it like as if it didn't work. Well, do that..and it changes everything. It's weird like that. Make sure , after you set it, exit out of the emulator then restart it, that way if the emulator crashes and exits to the homescreen/today screen, you wont have to re-set all your emulator config settings again.

As for the emu working on 6.1, I don't even know. I would suggest you adjust display and sound settings. It takes multiple adjustments to different ROMs just to get some of them to work properly. All this info is in the PocketSNes 1.53 thread...however, finding it is a very long and tedious task.

And also, if you are sure you seen a specific ROM working on a specific emulator but that ROM just refuses to run on your device, try downloading a different version of that ROM. Just because that specific version of THAT ROM runs on ZSNES on your PC, doesn't mean it will run on PocketSNES. Go and find a different ROM dump of that game, you might have one with a bad checksum or an overdump, which makes the ROM improperly bigger than what it really is, and some emulators wont read those. Go to doperoms and search for a different version of that game. You might even need a hacked version. Just do NOT link back to Modaco from that site and dont post rom images or direct links to rom files...nuff said.

And last....yes please DO install the emulator on your storage card. Installing MOST apps on the card is reccomended to save device storage. Only a few key specific apps have to be installed on the device. Pocketsnes is NOT one of them. Oh, and DONT put the rom files in your start menu. Just put a shortcut to the emulator executable in there. Thats all you need

If anyone needs any more help and can't find it here, I will be glad to help. Just PM me at SmartAppsWorld or post up a topic there. My UN is THE-COPS ..heheh

Please help.

I had work upgrade my ATT BJ2 to the 6.1. the screen did not look any different. When I typed in the *#1234# key both the phone and the PDA versions say i617UCHH2 yet the windows version still said 6.0. I did a hard reset thinking that was an issue since my favourites were still on the phone. I ended uo losing all my security certificates. I gave the phone back to IT and they put they certificates back on the phone yet the windows version is still 6.1.

I plan on following the instructions this weeknd at my house but am uncertain if dash wire would back up these settings. What info would I need to take of the phone in order to sync my email with my company? What does a certificate look like? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
