Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 I presume you are pressing the end call button for a few seconds to activate the lock?
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 my device no longer locks any more with the end call button my screen basically blinks i checked the settings and the end call key is still assigned to device lock any help would be appreciated I had the exact same problem on mine, but I'm pretty certain that it started once I setup Outlook Mobile to work with my company email. It seems that the server security policies, which make my phone lock out every 15 minutes with password, overrides the phone's lock. I don't know if your circumstances are the same, but I bought and downloaded SPB Shell, and it contains a Device Lock feature in the menu. Not only does the s/w look and function fantastically, but the device lock works again as well... even with the email security settings in place. I still have to log-in every 15 minutes though.
Guest Alex Alex Alex Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 (edited) in my experience it's a combination of enabling the PIN and an old ROM which has the bug (actually the current orange ROM has the bug, but this is an old ROM). I had to enable the PIN when i started using exchange email (the exchange server forced me to enable PIN as per the poster above) - however, upgrading to a newer ROM fixes the issue. Alternatively, you could use a 3rd party lock, like S2U2. Edited November 9, 2008 by Alex Alex Alex

Alex Alex Alex, You've made a good observation that never crossed my mind because I also upgraded to the HH3 Rom from Samsung's website the same evening I setup the Outlook account (see prev post). I'm really considering upgrading to the new Rom also posted on Samsung's website because HH3 kills my battery life. What Rom version have you upgraded to?
Guest kenneth-kofi Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 i sorted it now , it was because i had the phone lock which requires a pin on. I took it off now it works fine
