Backup ROM

I used this how-to for backing up my rom:

Can anyone tell me, if this works correct so I could restore back the rom without having trouble? This is important, because right now there is no official german rom release that can be flashed at home (shame on samsung/microsoft, who ever is responsible for the delay). So if I upgrade to a custom release I must be sure, I'm able to flash back to an original version...
