Omnia Wi-Fi problem with Zyxel Wireless

Hi;

I have a zyxel wireless adsl router model number : P661HW-D1

I can connect to my wireless SSID without any problem with my omnia but there is no data transfer when I am browsing the internet pages with opera or internet explorer browsers. I mean I can connect to wi-fi network with my phone but I can not get data over wireless

I tried my omnia wi-fi internet connection at my ofice wih a linksys modem and no problems occured. I can use internet very efficiently and also I tried it at severel wireless modem areas and there is not a data transfer problem, I can borwse web pages and check my emails without any problem.

I am expreiencing problems only at my home zyxel router

I have tired every way like disabling the password protect over wlan or changing to encryption methode like tkip or aes or hard reset the modem for factory defaults but nothing changed.

Do you have suggestions about this issue ? Have you ever experienced wi-fi problems with zyxel modems

I have similar problem with the router at work (I don't know what router is that). I have no problem with my linksys at home but when I connect at work, I have no data transfer (Wifi is connected and I can ping my phone). Someone at work tried his Iphone with the same parameters I did (IP address, Gateway, Subnet, DNS) and had no problem to get a data transfer.

Yes Zohare I have the problem exactly as you described.

I can ping the phone or ping the router but I can not get data to browse internet

are you using "work" connection on your work? where "this conection has internet" is checked and a proxy is set?

and using "The Internet" connection at home?

Hi;

Settings --> Browser Connection --> Network is described as Internet and the option above "Automaticly detect settings" is not checked

Setting --> Wi-Fi --> Network Adapters --> SyChip Jaguar WLAN selected and the description over drop down menu: Network adapter connects to: Internet

Settings --> Wi-Fi --> After clicking on a wireles SSID over the list I see the wireless network configuration page and at first page there is a section like: Connection target : and in this dropdown menu Internet is selected

Opera --> Settings --> Connections --> Detect settings automaticley is not checked and under it scoose network list points to: [*]Internet

I can use with this settings at work but not at home

I had the same problem...Socketcom WiFi Companion solved

Unfortunately, software was developed for older WinMobile, so you may notice some trouble

Anyway...give it a try, it may help you :-)

I just installed wi-Fi companion and I did not do any settings, it is working well now, I can connect to my wi-fi over my home zyxel router

Now we only have to understand which function Wifi Socket uses in our phone...

My personal experience :

@home - 3 different routers tested (NO WEP or WPA) - works perfectly

@work - 1 router (WEP enabled) - doesn't work

Please share all of your knowledge, this is a problem many users have!

For me wi-fi companion didn't help.

I have wifi with WPA at home - working perfect.

At work I use static ip for my mobile and the firewall defined to be open for this ip but it doesn't work, anyway the same ip works with Iphone.

What did you do with this wifi companion? just installed it and that it? or do you use it also to define the connection?
